RACING:
The bad. The bike feels way lighter maybe too light. You can now quad stuff out of the turns. The jumping characteristics have gone away from the more weighted and predictable feel of the last two MES games and are now resembling the MX ALL OUT bikes. They bounce super high and super fast. They fall back down to earth in the same way. A consistent feel between the jump combos has been lost. These things all take away from the realism factor. A negative for me personally. The tough blocks are still a little too tough. Not at slow speed but at any speed out of 1st gear. It would be nice to be able to ride along side them, clip them coming out of a turn etc with out being blown off like an IED.
The good. The counter weight steering is finally gone. In MES 2 you had to carefully yank the right stick to the opposite direction of the turn you intend to make. This had to be done perfectly in order to rail the berm and maintain speed. This one thing kept the bike from handling nearly perfect. Good riddance to that. This bike can corner way tighter, rail berms, point and shoot, all very well. And I think this one improvement is what we are all experiencing when we say this game is a lot of fun. Because it is. The acceleration is also improved (cause it's lighter?). Wheelies are better. Braking is better.
THE EDITOR
The bad. Can't reverse the direction of the obstacles any more, harder to switch between obstacle categories as now you have to exit each category then choose the new one etc. You can't just shuffle through open categories side by side. The courser goes back to the start when you change the categories. It is much harder now to drag an obstacle around the track that is already been partially built and place it over other objects. That object jockeys back and fourth two small spaces and does not want to drop exactly where it needs to be. So you have to delete from where you have built all the way back to the intended modification. When negotiating at the edges of the track you hit an invisible objects? every Finish line has a 30 foot flat apron before the transition disallowing creators to place objects closer to the finish? WHY WHY WHY? No split lane jumps. No elevated jump on/off turns stuff we been asking for since MES 1. I SIMPLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE THOUGHT BEHIND ALL OF THIS. Why offer a new version of a game that has more limitations than even the 1st edition? This was supposed to the the "unlimited editor".
The good Clicking around is smoother. The menus are faster. The whole thing loads faster. Sand sand sand everywhere you want it! A lot of new objects. Objects visually resemble the real thing looking very peaky etc. Editor bike sounds like a 2 stroke.
MILESTONE PLEASE READ THIS.
If you weight & and slow the bike just a tad, slow down the freaky jump bounce action, bring the consistency in handling in the jump combos back, fix all that stuff in the editor you will have released the product that should be.

The only thing I’m absolutely hating right now is this bug that makes my 1st place finishes register as last place a lap behind. What the hell is that about?

Turned on advanced settings, signed with gas monkey... Handed the pc boys their asses at the first 3 rounds on medium difficulty... Side note: if the cpu pisses you off you can take em out in the corners by nailing the swingarm lol... Kiss my ass virtual chase sexton...
Only 2 shitty things ive dealt with so far are 1. The tuffblocks are fucking tuff and will kill you.. and 2. Looping out multiple times after a crash because im not pressing forward.
Other than those two things im having a blast
Sorry if it's been discussed earlier in the thread, I didn't see it in the pages a quickly flipped through.
Milestone, FUCKING FIX THIS!!!
To me the game looks like garbage in 3rd person, being the bike angles, rider position, whips, everything kind of seems in slow motion etc, but in first person everything looks and feels great. I’ll keep throwing my goon whips and scrubs completely oblivious. I like that you can actually push through the corners, not tip toe in worry of the rear end coming around at any random second.
Side note: Game would be amazing in VR.
What I did with 2 was make my left toggle steering as well as leaning forward and back.. I had to also make X gas and square brakes and that's pretty much my only choice
Seems to only do it on A2 though. The others it puts me in the proper spot.
Beyond super touchy tuff blocks and the occasional phantom wall once or twice in a championship (the rider just falling on a flat straight for no apparent reason) this game is pretty awesome.
I dig how you have to hit line flawlessly to go big in rhythm. And bikes that actually turn with competition that you can actually take out.
Pit Row
My biggest complaints are:
Lappers - Make them ghost! Annoying when people just sit on the track and try to wreck everyone intentionally...
Hay Bails - Wish they were a tad forgiving
Overall I like the game. It’s definitely better once you figure it out a bit, too
Waaaaaaaay better 👍
Bad points (from an SP perspective) would be the way the AI bunch up. The game can feel very crowded at times, especially if you get a bad start or make a mistake early - to the point where there's bikes everywhere and you can't even see the obstacles in front of you, let alone the line you want. It feels more like bumper cars when this happens, and nothing really like a Supercross race. Generally the AI will also just 'move you out the way' upon contact... Coupled with tuff blocks that sometimes feel like they're weighted internally with iron girders and it can get frustrating in these moments with a dozen crashes in quick succession. A bad start should punish you yes, but it can feel more than a little unfair at times too.
Overall though an improvement imo.
