I just renewed my SX/MX subscription for 2020. I had a subscription for 2019 with "auto-renewal" turned off which is why I had to "manually" renew. FWIW, I despise auto-renewal ON ANYTHING with a passion.
My question is I've read numerous posts about folks getting a discount promo code for the 2020 season. I however, did not receive a discount promo offer. Was this offered to current subscribers or just current subscribers with auto-renew on or ??? I'm trying to figure out why I wasn't extended the offer and how to prevent exclusion next year.
It really hurts me to pay for the app as it's nearly unwatchable due to streaming dropping CONSTANTLY. I'll often have to try to start a race literally dozens of times before it "takes" and streams the heat/race. So very, very frustrating I dread sitting down to watch SX/MX as I know it's going to be near impossible to get it to stream. FWIW, this happens to me with every heat and every race. It's not my equipment as my son has the same issue and he's on a different internet service provider at his house 20 miles away. I'm not exaggerating on how bad it really is.... My service provider is Cox and I stream to a Roku. Always, always, always a challenge to get it to stream. It's so bad that sometimes I just give up and try a different day.

I eventually get the app to work after MANY repeated attempts but even then I watch with trepidation as I sit on the edge of my recliner waiting for it to drop the stream only to have to then attempt to get it to work again dozens of more times.
If there were any other viewing options I'd not be buying the terrible NBC Gold app.
Come to think of it I'm not sure why they're still calling it the "NBC Sports Gold" app as I thought this was eliminated last year and supplanted by the standard NBC Sports app?
Whatever, maybe they did something to fix it this year.
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
It's a lot more convenient, but it's not mandatory.
Then again, why should they when idiots/suckers like me sign up every year and pay the piper for their terrible product.
Pit Row
You would need 2 of these: 1 to go from the modem to coax, then coax back to ethernet to go into the TV

I just threw on a Netflix show to check speed and my TV says it's receiving the stream at 4.32 Mbps on a 1080 broadcast. Router 5G setting is being used versus 2.4G.
My response is NOT me arguing or disagreeing as I appreciate the responses/help. I'm sharing my observations and thoughts as I'm NOT a tech guy but know there are many on here who might come up with something to end what's driving my son and I crazy.
Router is straight up the stairs about 30 - 40 feet away with pretty much a straight shot to the Roku/TV. Router is rather new and is a dual 2.4/5.0G band.
Do you have the mobile ap on your phone? if so I bet that works just fine.
However, I do have one up on those damn millennials. I actually know how to make a phone call from a phone AND have a conversation with a real person on the receiving end! How about that for being tech savy!
Oh well, at least I'll be on track at Reynard's tomorrow morning to ride in the New Year! Probably last Pro SX practice day before Robbie's guys head to Anaheim. Those guys are fun to watch.
Being in Australia gives less options to watch SX/MX
And more problems with the NBC Gold App as some (probably out of date) regional restriction means I have to use a VPN.
I feel we enthusiasts are being “fleeced” due to our enthusiasm.
I paid around A$200 (season) for the Moto GP app.
Which doesn’t have a regional restriction. And works about 10 times better.
The Moto GP app has all practice/qualifying and races from 3 classes.
The ability to select different camera views, EG Helicopter shots.
Races from the last 10 years.
It’s only 2-3 times the price it should be. IMHO.
I haven’t renewed the NBC app.
And I may not.
Prior to loading onto TV I tried streaming to Roku and same as last year it was unwatchable as wouldn't load or drop the stream if you ever got it to load. My Roku is the culprit.
