Got the bike out in the yard today so I took a few more detailed photos, really happy with how the graphics came out

Why build the thing if you're not going to shred it?!

Cheers mate, at this stage there aren’t any plans to ride it.
I’ve enjoyed riding this bike every now and then over the years, now it will take pride of place on the mantle. I have a rm125 to do up next which will be a 2001 pastrana replica.

Fair play mate, yes it’s perfect and will be a nice thing to look at in the garage/office!

Look forward to your next build!

The attention to detail is amazing , beautiful build. I love the shifter and finishes on all the aluminum.

Thanks mate, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. The alloy finish on the parts was relatively easy to achieve but it was time consuming

Thanks jez, they are a great bike and come up so well with a bit of work. Hope your engine trans on yours doesn’t set you back a fortune.

I hadn’t had any luck finding a factory Suzuki gear shifter so I modified a hammerhead shifter to get the desired look. I sandblasted the shifter to remove the original coating, polished and brushed the main part of the shifter. I then had a mate turn up a small billet alloy button on the lathe to fit snug in the end of the tip.

There is actually a factory Suzuki gear shifter on eBay right now

Bit of progress, tidied up my front brake carrier which I’d been using when the bike was riden. I mounted it up with the new motostuff works billet caliper. The carrier is braking brand as is the front disc which is an ex factory Suzuki 270mm rotor with very little use from the 04-05 era. Fitted the rotor with titanium bolts aswell

Also got the rear brake caliper and rear master cylinder rebuilt and cleaned up. Fitted the caliper the carrier and fitted the master cylinder with titanium hardware. Fitted the rear disc and period tag sprocket to the hub also

yeah jacko looks really good mate i done my wheels the same it seems great aussie minds think alikeLaughing

They came up well mate, very happy with the colour combo. I’ve got a works Suzuki front disc on the way aswell which will help set it off even more. The one I have is an Australian factory disc which was a different style to the American factory discs

AMA factory Suzuki disc showed up, in need of a good clean up but should be able to get it looking decent with some elbow grease

Nice build and really like what you did with the shift lever. Will this bike see the track or only for display?

At this stage I won’t be riding it. The bike is currently in my living room on display but once I sort out a shed it will end up out in the shed. I admit I do miss riding it

Small update, I received a couple of cool parts I’ve been searching for for years. Works Suzuki rear brake clevis with titanium pin and Suzuki etched Hinson clutch cover. Also started cleaning up the works front disc, still have a little bit of work to do on it until I’m happy with it

Got a chance to clean up the front disc and install it, along with the works clevis and clutch cover

Cheers mate, not too difficult to do if you have access to a metal lathe and a small block of alloy
