Picked up a 1987 CR125 for $300 off of FB Marketplace. I've always wanted to own a piece of 1980's motocross history and race vintage class. Well, I think she's a good steed to make that happen next year.
I am open to suggestions and recommendations for this build, so feel free to chime in at any point.
Thanks for

Had to take advantage of the GUTS Racing BLKFriday deals. They had a gripper for the '87, I was surprised, so it was a perfect fit for the direction of the build and the colorway selection. Looking to get more progress over the holidays, cant wait.
The Shop
Free shipping: VITALMX
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
Also, get yourself some wider footpegs - modern YZ pegs fit.
But as someone else suggested - open that water pump cover. I'd be more concerned about getting the thing running properly before blinging it up at all.
Hopefully this is some incentive..
Good luck with your build.
Looking for decent footpegs. Where can i find?? As yous see, my project is on going!!
Maybe try IMs . The 87 was my 1st Mx bike I bought it on my birthday 11-18-89 . It had a NSR port job for hill climbs it had a great hit with a strong & long mid into the topend . I stacked 3 base gaskets to move the power up . I got a DG pipe for 99 bucks from Torque Center the pipe is Great . I broke the stock shock in 4 ft whoops . Got a WP shock it worked much better . I did a topend when the book said to every 10 hrs or so. So I never had the wrist in bearing fail . The bearing was smaller that yr . The 88 had a larger bearing & detuned the 87 was quite a bit faster. Rare bike I never see them for sale I see 86,s tho.
