Im going to supercross in St. Louis next month I’m just wondering where’s a good place to stay? I know the stadium is in a really bad part of town and I plan on ubering to and from the stadium so I don’t have to worry about parking. Any suggestions? This is the first time I’ve been to St. Louis so I don’t have a clue where the good area to stay is. Thanks!

For convenience, there is an Embassy Suites and a Lumiere Place. Both are basically right next to the Dome, so you can just walk from your room to the race. I'm sure the rates are a bit higher, but it would make your logistics very easy and safe.

Ubering might not be great because the place is bonkers after the race and all the streets and ramps to the highways are clogged forever. Stay across the street.

Try the lumiere, it's also a casino and has an underground walkway to the dome

I just stayed a week at the Marriott near the airport. Not bad. The concierge club was worth the money for free food and drink around the clock.

Drury Inn at Fairview Heights. Drive to the Metro. Pay $7 for a 1 day pass. Ride the metro in and back out after the race. The Hotel is WAY cheaper than staying in town. It has free parking, and a super nice breakfast. We went to StL from 2003 until a few years ago and used this method nearly every year.

The double tree by hilton across the river in collinsville Illinois is 10 mins from stadium and where the factory semis parking and stay. Anywhere near the stadium is a rough area.

A friend and I flew in and attended in 2013. It truly is a mess getting out of their parking area near the stadium. Took almost 2 hours to get out. Finally drove the rental car up an embankment to get out quicker. We stayed down by the baseball stadium. I wish we would have stayed at the casino across the street. We did fly int the small airport in East St Louis, I understand what the others are talkin about!

I’m staying at Hotel Indigo. It is a IHG affiliated hotel about a block south of the stadium on Broadway and Olive. It is a new hotel, and I just used points and it didn’t take many.

You could stay at the Westin by the baseball stadium, a few exits further out in Missouri near Clayton-Brentwood, or the Illinois side in Collinsville, Edwardsville or Shiloh. Illinois is much more suburban and a short drive away depending where you stay.

All those options are better than being stuck next to the stadium, which is in the north part of town and hectic.

If you have a rental car, park in the garage at 9th Street and Cole, not the one connected to the stadium. It’s right behind the convention center where the pits are located and near two of the popular hotels.

If you don’t get a car, don’t be stuck at the hotel. Find a place to eat in Maplewood, Central West End, or The Hill, that’s where some of the best (and safest) places in town are. Do not waste time at Ballpark Village, there are plenty of better places to go.

If you go the Illinois route, Edwardsville-Collinsville or Shiloh-Fairview Heights have lots of options.

I know STL gets a reputation, deservedly so if you watch the news, but most of what happens is limited to neighborhoods you should never be in. Any place north of Cass Avenue in the city to the airport is not for you.

Let me know if you or anyone else needs recommendations, I live 30 minutes from the city and am more than willing to help people see a different side of the STL.

Avoid the Metro Link at all cost, it is very sketchy and very dangerous. (I live in STL not too far from the dome)

We have used the metro every year since 03 for SX or Hockey and have never had an issue. Usually a drunk asshole or 2 but they have never bothered us.

Drury Inn next door. A great time Friday night and Saturday night at the bar will be had.

The Crowne Plaza in 2009 was a weekend to remember. I think pretty much every team stayed there that year, and Saturday night after the race at Friday's was some epic bench racing time.

I go there for work a lot and stay as far west as I can. Anywhere near the airport east to downtown is straight sketchy.
