I want to do this to my bike but little nervous cause where my knees rub and the Honda 2018 oem sticker being melted off . Didn’t know if i had some night temp heat tape over it . Just curious on those who have done this before. Thank you

I had a frame done red once and would never do it again. The powder coat doesn’t stay looking nice very long. Mine actually wore off pretty quick where my boots rubbed. Powder coat was done by a reputable shop also.

If you do it, get a set of black Polisport frame guards so that your boots wont wear out the paint.

1. It wears off quickly
2. It kills the value of the bike

What about steel frame bikes, such as KTM and Husky? They’re already done, so re-doing them isn’t going to do anything to the value.

Theyre steel frames, they have to be coated. They come that way from the factory.

Were talking about a honda with an alumimum frame.

It makes a lot of sense it wokt last long was thinking of having the guy go xtra thick around the boot area

Have them put a coat of clear over the color not just single coat of color. The clear will protect the color and should last longer

If you do it get some clear vinyl to put over the spots where your boots rub it. Then when it starts looking like crap just get a heat gun, peel off the old, and put fresh on.
