I get TXs point, it would be nice to have civil discussions about lots of those issues.
But on Vital it always goes south fast.
Even ignoring Hillbilly’s original question calling gay people homos, there were quickly people calling gay people “fags in banana hammocks” etc.
It’s not a civil discussion. At that point it was bullshit.

It quickly went down the wormhole of conspiracy theories talking about the networks pushing the gay agenda. It was a shitshow

Yeah but some people actually believe those theories. It's hilarious.

Not even close, theres be WAY dumber stuff on here. Ive done lots myself.

The guy has a point and I agree with a lot of it. But like has been said ad nauseum before, this site is privately owned and the owners have made it clear what they do, and do not want posted here. I fully support that and people should respect that or GTFO.

You guys go for it for a while without me. It makes it easier to pick out the winners and losers later.

John, you ever been eating chocolate covered peanuts and get one with a raisin, or a fly?

I never know because I expel it at high rates of speed.

As for pickles, I make killer pickles.

Dude, why pay for lobster when you can eat mud bugs?

If you can tie a bowline with a steak, it's probably been frozen too long.

I’m not defending Hillbillies original post. It was certainly rough around the edges. Too rough for some obviously.

There was plenty of other good back and forth dialogue in that thread. Some of us are capable of typing up a coherent thought. And replying to others in a thoughtful and respectful manner.

The problem is when just because there is a difference of opinion, one side gets shouted down. Shut down. Clipped. Silenced. Whatever you want to call it.

Believe it or not, these topics are not political. They are moral and ethical topics. They are only politicized to keep good folks divided.

- Why are some gays so open in public to the point of it being completely inappropriate
- Why do we look for any sign up life (any microbe or living cell) on another planet and call that life, but a beating heart on Earth is not life
- Why are there a significant amount of incarcerated African Americans
- Why is most terrorism globally committed by Muslims.
- why do parents refuse to vaccinate their kids
- How has the break down in the family contributed to mental health problems
- Why isn’t marriage valued anymore by society. Or rather, why does there seem to be a concerted effort to undermine marriage.
- Why are there safe spaces in college schools
- Why are illegal immigrants allowed to keep breaking the law.

I could go on and on. Those are examples of threads that have been clipped here over the years.

Rather then saying no politics on vital how about no moral or ethical topics.

Cool, so 3 story lines.

I have never seen an episode of this is us, so I can’t talk about that show.
But between Roseanne and NCIS there are 614 episodes. So anything around 30 episodes revolving around “gay issues” would be inline with the amount of the general population that is gay.
I guarantee it’s a whole lot less than 30 episodes in those shows that highlight the “gay agenda”
But if you want to prove me wrong, please go ahead and provide examples of 28 further episodes.
(Keeping in mind that would only bring it up to a statistical representation of the general population)

That’s how percentages work

Or are you saying that there shouldn’t be any gay characters on TV?

"I wouldn't hit a hawg in the ass with a truckload of sweet pickles."

I can really appreciate the hillbilly-ness of this phrase in a thread about Hillbilly.

I’ve got to agree. I’ve been underwhelmed with lobster when I’ve had it but people keep raving about it. I feel like I must have never gotten any good ones.

But there’s a local Italian restaurant that has a lobster mac n cheese that I’d probably kill someone over.
I gotta get you both a big fat , seasoned with rock salt , a lemon and Old Bay ( possibly a little beer) ....big ol Rock crab!! The meat isn't like the Dungeonous crab , but super flakey and slightly sweeter. So.....dang....good!!

Actually heading to the coast again this weekend. I'll be waist deep setting traps off the shore and climbing the jetty up and down in probably 35 degrees. If I can still feel my legs and arms at the end of the day..... I'll cozy up in my van , crack some beers , jam to some music , drink more beer and feast on fresh Dungeonous , Rock crab and some seasoned muscles. Along with even more beer ....then do it all again Saturday!! Yeehaww!!

Is normalizing homosexuality not a good thing? Should it be pushed as being abnormal instead? I though we'd moved past that these days.

I love King Crab, but not much of a fan of the tiny crab that takes 5 minutes to get an ounce of edible meat from.

I’ve been spending a lot more time in the Portland area lately since my girls moved down that way. My younger daughter is in Beaverton and my oldest is in the Alphabet District in Portland near 23rd. May have to try one of them Rock Crabs one of these days.....

I have absolutely nothing to add here regarding gay lobsters, nor do I know if they taste any different than straight lobsters, but I wanted to get a post in.

There it is. . .

My post in this thread. . .

Hope you enjoyed, but I'm realistic enough to know that you're probably mad you cant get that 30s of your life back. My sincerest of apologies.

Yes , but not insulated enough for long amounts of time in the water. But I'm in and out of the water most all day. Jetty is still cold too but don't really get wet , but man handling traps up and down huge boulders all day takes it out of me.
