Thanks for posting that, I didn't even realize that James turned towards Chad's line.

Stevie Wonder could have seen that coming. I've seen that move (and used it) so many times....part of racing. I'm surprised that James didn't just pull over once he realized that Reed was waiting and refused to pass him.

James definitely seemed to turn into him a little bit. Weird.

Everyone knows James was not pushing hard. he came into that corner soft by his standards anyway. I dont think he had any idea Reed was there.

Yeah, coming into a corner soft is an excuse for turning inside of a turn, James knew Chad was there, he was trying to let him by, remember?

kind of a weird move,,but rubbin's racing!!!!!

(and it seemed james knew it was coming for a few laps ,

so its odd he dint just shut it down in the corner ....)

fan of them both ,

and the title came down to the last race..

how cool is that. !

i usually wouldn't have stayed up to watch,

getting up early to hit a race this morning..

but the series was great , and it kept me up to watch it live!

getting people interested and watching is the whole thing right?

hats off to everyone who makes the race happen each week ,

and to all the riders

He also said that Chisolm robbed us of the best 5 laps of racing this year.

There's no logical reason he would want to do that. But watch the video again, he clearly moves a little to the left, with lots of track left on the outside where he could go to stay clear of Reed.

Think of this race another way.....do you know of any other sport (other than the Talledaga finish) that had such a good ending in recent memory? I wonder what the ratings were for that race. Reed + Stewart = new fans

AJ - I might start riding again if you get that to my front door. Ahhh what the hell, I'll pay the freight! I even have an 08' 450F with 3 hours on it that I will give up to you....with a spare engine! How about payments? $25 a month for life and you can then have it back and resell it!

Look at GuyB's pictures in Photo section. Pictures # 35 and 36 show Alessi demonstrating to Reed how to do it.

Best since '06.

The E/W Shootout was one heck of a race too.

Almost wish the series had another race or two.

Almost.

Was that before the whoops? If so, I bet Short had time to get up, jump back on the bike and make it to the end of the whoops before Alessi... LMAO!!!!

With that said, awesome pictures and very cool pass! The MX pussies will be here shortly telling you Alessi should have been suspended!!! In my book if your front wheel is ahead of the other guy... too bad for the other guy! It's a textbook very aggressive blockpass!!

I'm still not 100% sure why Reed would not have tried to stuff JS as soon as he caught him. Following James around slow for 2 laps did exactly what JS wanted... it let RV gap him enough that there would be no way for Chad to take the win.

I would have thought more of Chad had he banged into James trying to blast past him instead of slowing down and looking like he was waiting to run him off the track.

I don't know why he would do that, but clearly at about three seconds into the video he veered left and hit Chad. Maybe you're right, and he didn't know Chad was that close, or maybe he wanted contact with Chad so he could look like the victim.

Just out of curiousity, if someone is coming over about to hit you arent any of you guys eventually going to turn into him hoping to save yourself........ I mean eventually you've got to push back when you know the guy is coming for you. You just stay in your line or worse keep riding away from him your chances of going down are higher, you turn into him and your chances of staying up are better. Maybe thats just my way of thinking. I mean it was pretty obvious what Reeds intentions were in this race. He tried, it didnt work, the better man won the war.

Cant wait till next year, hopefully it will be more than a 2 man battle and we'll have 3 or 4 guys dicing it up for the championship, one can dream. Now onto outdoors..... cant wait.

Reed in first, James in third wouldn't have accomplished anything. Reed needed Stewart to stall the bike and have trouble starting it. Even having him fall over in a corner wouldn't have done much. Stewart had plenty of time to get up and take third. I think Reed was trying to piss Stewart off and make him give chase, hoping James would be James and throw it away. Stewart looked to be doing that right after but then backed down, I bet his pit board said something about it the next lap. Reed took his only option, Reed was probably surprised Stewart didn't stop.
