We better bloody hope they do - give a shit about Moto - oh Over-sized Simian. As, we have No Growth in our 'Western' markets with Motocross and Dirt Bikes, or, indeed, Motorcycle sales in general.
As I've said and written for years, if just a poofteenth (and you, as a fellow Aussie know just how technical and scientific that term is) of a percent of the MC market in China, India, Indonesia etc, etc get a 'bug' for Offroad, we'll see a Dirt Bike boom that will make the 70s US , OZ etc Dirt Bike boom look absolutely minuscule.
Heck, in China the Middle Class (with wages comparable to, or, better than, our - the Wests, shrinking - 'middle class') is now bigger than the USA's whole population, and India's either close to it, or, over. Those markets, and others, basically subsidize our fancy, cool bikes with their mind boggling sales of small capacity bikes. As I've put up elsewhere, just google Yamaha Indonesia to see the huge range of models of small capacity bikes. A few of which utilize the 'MX' moniker. They've nothing to do with MX, but they use the 'cool' associated with it. And, some of them are trick little things. eg: with 155cc 4t Watercooled, EFI'd, Variable Valve actuation engines. And, that's only one brand. 'We' need them, 'They', don't much need us, in terms of Motorcycle sport and Industry health.
According to official data, a middle class household in China earns between RMB 25,000 (US$3,640) and RMB 250,000 (US$36,400) in a year.
That's not middle class, that's living in poverty.
In fact, a 2015 report by the investment banking firm UBS and PricewaterhouseCoopers puts the size of China’s middle class at only about 109 million people – by setting a higher income threshold between US$50,000 and US$500,000.
Didn't want to hijack the thread but found this interesting.
MXGP sans England is wrong. So wrong.
They're conspiratorial protagonists, as is Katie Hopkins.
Don't fall for their shit.
Shame for Steve and the team that put on such a good event, he must feel fed up with it all and understandably. Would it be difficult to have a break away series that was more affordable?

This is my last post on this, probably end up getting banned.
BRING BACK THE BRITISH GP!!!!
I'm not saying the British GP will be apart of MXGP 2020 BUT there will be changes and I wouldn't be surprised if they were asked to step in.
Sadly, money really does talk in this sport otherwise it would make total sense to visit Australia, USA, Argentina and race on the best tracks in the world where the locals are more than capable of mixing it up and scoring points.
