Never listened to the Pulp show?

Eli is gonna Eli just means something off the wall will happen, his bike will break, his pants will fall down. Something always happens to Eli.

Eli Tomac is going to end up with astronomical statistics for race wins etc. but everyone will look back at his career and say what if?

"look back at his career and say what if"?

You do realize he's won 250 SX / MX championships & now has multiple 450 MX titles. The only championship that is missing is the 450 SX. Making a statement like that is not wise considering his career is not over & appears to be at the peak of it.

I realize the 250 championship is a regional championship and I also realize that 450 MX plays second fiddle to SX in America.

Yeah what if...…

If the only people above you in SX wins are guys with 2 or more titles and you don't have any then what if is a very fair question. Bradshaw is the next in line for most wins without a title and he has almost 10 wins less.

My post is specifically about this years motocross and not SX but past trends show something very well could go south.

So Osbourne is to 450 MX what Webb was to 450 SX?

I'll admit, I like the theory. Not a huge fan of Webb, but by the end of the SX season, I was rooting for him to finish it off. He rode the best, he deserved it.

To see Osbourne do something similar outdoors would be enjoyable as well. He has 1 overall finish better than Eli. He is going to need to make that a regular occurrence. Maybe he has it all figured out and that streak starts today.

As with any sport, it is always good to peak at the right time.

I'd think the odds of Eli/Osbourne finishing 1-2 are pretty good. Just who gets which spot?

No hate for Roczen, but it sure looks like whatever is killing his stamina isn't fixed. Not sure if he'll even get another top 5, and not for a lack of talent.

Moose Can may well go down as one of the best riders to never when a 450 title. He does seem to lack whatever it is that allows a rider to rise to the occasion and clinch a 450 title in the US. Always seems to be somebody with more of the 'rise to the occasion' in them. No hate for him ether, based on his wife alone, if nothing else.

I think Eli learned a lot from Dungey on consistency. I mean his worst finish is a 3rd? Podium the competition to death, is exactly what Dungey did. Eli lived it, lost championships because of it. Now he knows, if something isn't working in a Moto, take that 7th, win the 2nd Moto and finish on the podium.

Hope Osbourne takes over, but if I had to place a bet, it'd be on Eli.

In the first timed qualifying Zacho is in exactly last place.

My plan seems to be working, I'm a closet Eli fan and I was trying to jinx the 16 bike. Hahahahaha

Please don’t endorse a champion again. We can’t afford to lose anymore riders 😮

Yep,
The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team has informed us that Zach Osborne suffered a practice crash while riding on Thursday, and injured the SC joint in his shoulder (this is the connection between the collarbone and the chest). The team says the injury isn't too serious and should not require surgery, however when Zach tried riding today in practice he didn't have the strength to hold on. After trying and struggling in today's first practice, Zach and the team decided it wasn't safe to attempt to race today.

The hopes are that with the break in the schedule next weekend, Zach might be able to come back and race the next event at Spring Creek in Millville, Minnesota.

Of course all comments include the disclaimer of 'barring injuries', right?

Nope, if you scroll up you will see that I ate crow about 2 minutes after Weege announced that "Darkhorse title contender Zach Osbourne was out today." on the Gold Pass qualifying show.

I went out on a limb and it broke.

You are right about things going South.. That's why your prediction was really going out there considering there is still a lot of racing to go..

With AC having 5 overalls a third and whatever this weeks official score is I wouldn't go that far yet. The only troubling thing with AC is that he didn't seem to have the outright speed of Fernandez at any time today.

At least right about Tomac. Five races to go and a 34 point lead. Only one rider for him to worry about now. Plus, it still looks like he is the fastest guy.

I think Adam hangs on.

Great predictions on that race.....NOT!! Osbournes to lose?? He would have to have the red plate for that to be a true statement. Eli in fact did go 1-2, and is now 34 points up. Any other bold predictions?

Unless by “Eli is going to Eli” you mean be a complete bad ass the rest of the year(2X defending champ, current points leader, only rider who has yet to finish off the podium this year) then you sound like a complete idiot.

Are you not familiar with Eli Tomac. I am not a hater but the fact is the guy just ends up doing shit or ending up having shit happen to him that you can't explain. Last year I thought he was the baddest man on the planet but then the title ended up going right down to the end. As fast as Tomac is the title should have been wrapped up a round early the past two years. More to the point that I'm not a Tomac hater I think he is the reason Dungey retired mid year, Dungey wasn't prepared mentally to go where Eli would force him to go.

I'm glad no one agrees, I know I'm going out on a limb but anyone can predict the odds on favorite. I base my prediction partly on the past two weeks. I was at WW and his late 2nd moto speed was next level. Also seeing his demeanor in the pits and even cruising around on the golf cart with his family Friday night, there was a look of determination and confidence that really struck me.
The title cam down to the end because he had a mechanical at Red Bud. Again real solid predictions.

Btw, not that it matters since a championship is a championship but had his bike not grenaded on him while he was comfortably leading the 1st moto of Redbud with a couple laps to go(i.e. 25pt swing) he would have wrapped it up earlier

I'm an idiot??? Thank you keyboard badass.

Try using some brains and read what I typed and get off Eli's balls. It's no newsflash that if Eli doesn't feel comfortable he throws out a 9th place finish. I am saying that his past performance along with past bike failures combined with Zach's tenacity and never say die attitude make it a real chance that Zach takes it.

The harsh reality is that Eli lost the points lead after moto 1 at WW and if Kenny was in normal health he would have buried Eli by now.

I'm well aware that if if if if means nothing but if also means there is a void someone like Zach can fill.
For sure you're an idiot. Zack goes out with a shoulder, and Tomac goes 1-2. You're also talking about a guy who is now tied with James Stewart for O/A 450 moto wins.

Did you just "NOT" me? Tell 2003 I said hi.

Here's a bold prediction. Eli will end up #6 on the all time Supercross win list and never win a Supercross title. (Yes I'm aware he has a regional title)

As far as my prediction, how difficult is it to just say the guy with the points lead is going to keep rolling? I made sure I posted before the race because I saw a trend and I wanted to be first to call it. When you make a bold prediction sometimes you come off looking really smart, others someone gets hurt before the next race is even run and makes you look like a dope.

Tomac is the best. He's proving it for the 3rd year in a row, and I think they're still off the mark some on bike set up even if they're closer.

You're the guy that makes dumb predictions to any sport just so you can tell your buddies "I told you so and so was gonna win bro, I called it." As if it gets you some sort of street cred.

Nope, just trying to start a conversation bro, sorry to offend you. I was just excited to see someone new in the mix, it is so freaking exciting when the title really isn't in doubt. *sarcasm

Funny, my post (where I was admittedly wrong) was so ridiculous but no one mentioned that even in the broadcast Weege said he was a darkhorse title candidate.
