I'll be up there in a couple of weeks. Playing the Country Club course. Probably have a beer. Maybe two.
Will you be up here over the weekend? They have great bands each weekend. We're watching a beach boys cover band now.
Haven't fixed a date yet. Last time we drove up Friday morning, played the afternoon. Played Saturday and drove back Sunday. Where do the bands play?

EDIT: Currently at a 7.1 in the same area.

When we had the big one over here in 2011, we had close to 3000 aftershocks that ranged from barely registering, to a 7.0, so be ready, SoCal folks, you’re probably not done yet.

That was a long slow roller. I thought it was going to be the big one because it just wouldn’t stop. I had flashbacks of the Northridge quake when we got leveled

7.1 and it was Friday evening. By comparison, the 89 San Francisco quake that killed 67 people and caused around 5 billion in damages was a 6.9.

Yeah like avidchimp had said, they play at the Arrowhead village. So far the bands have been really good. And the bands that are still coming up sound like a good time.
Arrowhead village concert line up

So a friend that lives in Ridgecrest posted this on my facebook. I don't know what to make of it. He says that is lava flowing out of that crack. I have no way of verifying the picture, but asked him if knows who took it. He hasn't replied yet. Here's what he wrote followed by the picture.

"These last two quakes were because of the geothermal plant and their fracking . Did the news say anything about the Army being up in Trona , no? Did they mention lava was flowing from this crack that opened up ? Heres a pic that was taken they are trying to say that is a natural gas leak but believing that would be like thinking an airplane could drop a skyscraper. natural gas is not liquid and would blow not run. The quakes started the min they started fracking . and if it was gas they wouldnt be trying to cover it up!"

Could be natural gas. It doesn't look that different than the Darvaza gas crater in Turkmenistan.

You'd expect that lava would have flowed naturally down the hill.

We've gotten earthquakes from fracking here in Ohio. Never had them before, but now there have been a handfull of small 3-4's near frack Wells and waste injection wells.

I don't know man. He's a friend I went to high school with. He believes the US government dropped the WTC on 9-11. I love the guy, but I'm not subscribing to the conspiracy theories. I know we want to believe there's a reason for everything - a reason we can understand - but sometimes (most of the time in my opinion) - there just isn't.

I've lived in Fresno, California my entire life (31 years) and on 07/05/2019 was the first time I've felt an earthquake. I had just finished a 7.7 IPA and my first thought was damn, this beer is strong! It was wild though and that picture above with Lava has me tripping.

I'll admit. I'm usually setting Ford Ranger speed records on race day down Trona road.
