My point is that there are people using this as a "checkmate" against the people who think Suzuki's are inferior bikes. And I'm saying that when going from a privateer bike (of any brand) to a factory bike (of any brand), and having travel and expenses taken care of, it shouldn't be some big surprise that he did better this weekend. It doesn't mean that the Suzuki still isn't on par with the other brands at a factory level.

Now, if Freddy would've went from Factory Honda to JGR Suzuki and did better, that's a different story.

Truth is, if Noren would’ve had worse results on the Zook you and the rest of the haters would of LIT this forum up bashing the brand. Instead you’re still trying to find a negative to run with.

We are stoked because so many guys said that riding for JGR would ruin him and destroy his career. He proved the bike can run up in the top 5 with a rider that actually wants to be there.

Suzuki isn’t the problem. Their main rider, Justin Hill, is.

What a great weekend for Freddie. Hard not to feel good about that.

Maybe in the latest and greatest Vital MX 450 shootout the Suzuki 450 'lags behind' but I think some are underestimating how much work can be done to these bikes, even with 'production rules'. At the factory level, the ultimate difference between these machines is much smaller than stock to stock comparisons.

Any street bike guys here? The 2009-generation Yamaha R1 was a pig in stock trim. Underpowered and overweight, plus steered like a bus. I literally rode back-to-back on a bone stock OEM Yamaha R1 and then Josh Hayes' championship winning Superbike (yes really) and you wouldn't know they were the 'same bike'. Josh's SBK was insaaaane whereas the OEM version was 'not very good'. Really opened my eyes as to how much you can modify, even with production rules.

Just another thing a lot of people seem to miss is just because the bike finished behind others in a shootout doesn’t mean the bike is shit. All the new bikes are quality. Pick which one you feel the best on and can get the best deal on.

I talked to my dad about Noren and he asked me if he makes a living over there and i answered barely.

Then i started thinking about his 250 SX results. I haven't checked this but he was making most of the mains this year in the races he lined up for? The results weren't anything special but he made mains?

Why could JGR not sign him for a 250 SX and 450 MX ride? Have Chad as 450 SX only and then put Noren on the 450 for MX. I mean Norens SX growing potential has to be large? Large enough to get to the same level as Kyle Peters and that seems to be an acceptable level to JGR.

Yea, honestly he's been on the up in SX. His injury last year set back the trajectory. He'll make another step up this offseason. Managers will be smacking themselves if they don't sign him.

Yeah his 250 sx results has been weak. Yeah he qualifies but barely. This year was a bit different though because he came off nearly a full year off the bike with injuries. Even after the injuries he had no bike for a long while! He was riding some friends Honda cr250 I think before Phoenix gave him a ride.

I truly believe he'd do better on a 450 in supercross too, but he's never got the chance to. Except that one time he qualified for a 450 main but he was on a Honda 250.
I'd really like to see him get the chance at least.

5th, 6th, and 7th overall place we're all tied on points for the day at Southwick. Freddy got 7th overall based on 2nd Moto finishes, but he kinda tied for 5th overall. I like underdogs and old dogs.

Yeah, it happens... Typically, a 5-7 would be better than 7th OA. All the top guys got high moto finishes. The points drop from 7th to 8th overall is huge.

He rode great and I can't imagine that JGR isn't completely stoked by his effort and the results.

If he performs this good on a bike he hasn't even been on a week, where's the limit?

Beyond stoked. Outperforms one the "most talented guys in the pits" (Hill) on this little time on the bike, that says something about both Freddie and Justin in my opinion.

Now that´s a great idea there! Hopefully Freddie will continue to ride well and someone at JGR will consider a contract like that Smile

I was lucky enough to spend some time with him at the 2017 MXON and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, in life, not just motocross circles.

Someone at Honda will be kicking themselves for not getting him on Seely's bike. With what he's done with only 2 or 3 days on the Suzuki there is some huge gains to be made (not saying that his Southwick results weren't great).

So, this begs the question... if his performance at Southwick isn’t a flash in the pan and he drops top 5,6,7 finishes for the rest of the year, is he JGR contracted next year?

7th is better than what They’ve been doing all year for the most part so yes. They’ll take anything inside the top ten right now I’d imagine
