Revival of the old pro section at high point being built at we speak.

I've never seen it. Anyone have interesting info (pics maybe) on the "OG pro section" back in the day?

DC's Instagram has pictures of the construction. Maybe someone can post them here.

High Point needs Bradshaw Boulevard, the billboard berm, lots of off cambers and some mud.

Otherwise it just kind of blends in with the rest.

Wish that billboard berm came back. Anyone have pictures of that? I recall some good ones...

The G-out/drop into the off-camber before Bradshaw Blvd was awesome.

Excellent News. Originally that section had a G-out drop on a severe off camber that was so tough, if you fell, it was hard to get started. It was often grass covered, slippery and 100% "old school" motocross. High Point is awesome and excellent weather predicted !!!!

That G-out section is High Point imo. I remember brownie in 03 jumping that step down onto so,e banners and then carrying those with him. Was is Shae Bentley that hit the tree down there in 99?

It’s about time they brought that section back!

Don't be posting pictures of real motocross tracks now, all these west coast boys will get upset and say they are too tough!. Laughing

There used to be a long, rough, off-camber downhill with a tight turn at the bottom into a very steep hill that led up to what eventually became Bradshaw Blvd... even before there was an actual "pro section". When it was muddy, that section was nearly impossible for big bikes and they would cut it out for minis.

I do miss the big sweeper and the turn around the old tower that led into it. At one point, that turn was the finish line. It used to get a good rut on the inside and a berm around the outside. Somewhere I have a photo of me on an 80 coming out of that turn in a sideways wheelie. I remember Guy Cooper high siding coming out of the turn after the uphill triple as he crossed the start straight.

DC may tell me I'm wrong, but I think he once told us a story about the uphill triple behind the starting gate where his dad had him and his brother go to the fence and hit the first jump wide open and they placed the 3rd jump where they were landing.

Tracks evolve... but as long as they keep plenty of off-camber sections, then it will still be High Point.

Although I will not be in attendance this year I must say its about time, last years layout was a bit of a yawn. Its certainly not what it used to be back in say the mid 2000s. Certainly miss bradshaw blvd and the triple by the start.

I remember the story on how they made the up hill triple too.

I miss the old layout, steel uphill start, Bradshaw boulevard, the triple behind the start, all of that. I’ll never forget seeing Reedy jump over that big single like stew did the wall at Daytona. Was that 09?

Hats off to DC and the track crew for changing things up for the race. I went to High Point in 97 in the mudfest and was blown away by the off camber sections.
