While you and Richard Loots conveniently ignore the huge cheering that riders like a Roczen and Marvin get. Or any otherbGP rider that decides to do a one off race here. And don’t even bring up boos because American riders get those as well. I’ve heard boos for RC, Stewart, RV, Dungey, et al.
i am not ignoring anything , as i was replying to average joe ... different statement ... as he said the next

I don't know anyone that dislikes any GP rider...other than Herlings. So I'd have to disagree on Americans hating European riders..

Typically in the USA we can say things and not be punished. One of the things that makes the US the best country on earth. If you lived here youd know...

That statement is why a lot of fans in America don't like Pourcel. Instead of losing gracefully, he says that even Dungey knew he (Pourcel) was better and then finishes his statement off by saying that fans are jealous because they haven't accomplished what he has, and to f off.

Meanwhile, Dungey went on to wipe the floor with Pourcel on the big bikes, and was a gracious winner and gracious in his losses.

Serious question after a genuine answer. Why are Americans so patriotic? Here we have, Herlings, a phenomenal rider yet because he isn't from "The Greatest Country on Earth" a lot of Americans refuse to recognise this and when they do, American's will find excuses as to why Herlings is so fast and why local riders can't beat him.

I'm from New Zealand, my bio is a piss take, and when international riders come over and towel our locals we celebrate them because it's a slap in the face and a wake-up call to local riders who are getting a bit to big for their boots.

I thought this phenomenon was isolated to the Vital forums but recently I met some American riders in NZ and when I brought up Vitals hatred of Euro riders, in particular, Herlings, they were of the same opinion and got quite aggravated the more I asked why they didn't like him.
Her is a fact: If Herlings came and raced the nationals, he'd have the loudest cheering section. American moto fans respect talent. and Herlings would be...

Thats true, but what Americans also like is a rider that is there to win. Nothing else. Regardless of his talent. Riders that go hell bent and give it their all. Riders that battle and make it a dog fight even if they don't win. If you do that, you're cheered. Of course that's the case in Europe as well, but in the U.S. it's appreciated a little extra. it's the nature of people here. That's why sx is big here. It's dangerous and requires aggression. Herlings rides to win, and nothing short of that. He would be popular here for that reason alone. Because he's fast and he's there to throw down. That's all that matters to fans in general. Any rider like that is gonna be loved.

Exactly. He shows his arrogance with this statement, and doesn't realize that he caused the American fans to not like him. He's feeling sorry for himself and being an ass. If an American rider acted like that and posted something like this, he would be laughed at and ridiculed every bit as much. Narcissism doesn't fly.

Ben Townley......that's a dude. A straight up badass. He's majorly respected here. A total opposite of Pourcel.

Jeffrey Herlings is a down to earth guy who is really accessible for his fans, takes his time for pictures, gives away number plates and jerseys to young kids all the time. His cool guy image is just part of the business as that is for every other hotshot in professional sports. To state JH is arrogant is the most retarded comment ever lol.

you forgot about the Boo's for Musquin , or Ferrandis ...or Pourcel ... or JMB ?? haha get lost dude

I hated HATED JMB! I wanted him to lose so badly. Why? Because I was 14yr old kid and this French dude smashed all my hero's. Funny thing I've rooted against everyone not American up until Herlings. My appreciation for him has made me see how good all the GP riders are. I love to see amazing riding now idc where it comes from. And I like how cocky JH is.

I’m not conveniently ignoring that the other euros that come over get cheered on just as much or more even. I was stating that the American fans at that time hated JMB, along with his teammates & probably his actual team.

go and drink a beer with Rainman , you 2 might like each other ..

Maybe we would. We have one thing in common at least, we don't like narcissistic panzies like you. "Tomaniacs" how clever of you to constantly repeat something some other idiot came up with, and throw in emojis. You're a broken record and a two faced weasel. Why don't you have a pic of Herlings' ass as your profile pic any longer, Lootsie Pie? Because I said something about it? I don't think you're a Herlings' groupie because of his riding, I think it's something else. Go ahead and switch your profile pic back to the one you had for so long. Be who you are, weenie boy.

He does live here. He also ranted in a comment recently about how "America sucks". It was pathetic the way he trashed his own country. I called that jackass out on it, so he doesn't like me now. Im glad he doesn't like me.

Its still a Dutch man's ass. I hope I'm never be able to distinguish one from another. You're still a hypocrite and a "never wrong" narcissist who sings the same, irritating tune and giving a thumbs up to any "America sucks" rhetoric you run across. You wish it was true, but you know it's bullshit.

You sepoes are so funny. You get so fired up! You use the right to bear arms (written when guns were muzzle loaded) to justify mass killings of school children with auto weapons.
Columbus discovers the new world and you think you rule it.
World war 2 is over with minimal casualties per capita from the US with technology from a German (Einstein) and you claim you won it.
You lose the war in the east, Korea and Vietnam.
Have you heard of humility, dignity and honour?
Respect?

Us aussies love self deprecating humour so you got me good on the “brilliance” comment. Good one! So now I don’t have to mention my tertiary education, or my first job designing high grade military comms. Or my current electronics job. Or my old hobby racing national mx/sx.
However I have walked 8 hours out of a rainforest with a dislocated elbow, and rode an 8 hour enduro after breaking my wrist on the first lap. And my ex did take me to the cleaners...
Wait! I AM an idiot! You are right!! Damn it!!!

Funny how Ali always gets worshipped for saying he was "The Greatest".... Or Bolt is a legend because of his posturing after a win... Herlings came over, borrowed a bike, rode a track he'd never seen, and rode through the entire pack for the win. What did you expect him to do; apologise.?

Yes, Herlings can be arrogant but he's earned it. Give me a confident sportsman who's proud of his achievements over a bland corporate "my Dunlop tyres hooked up great, my KXF/CRF/whatever was super-reliable, my etc...etc... zzzzzzzzzzz" type rider any day.

The sport is lucky enough to be in a time where there are some bloody fast riders out there on both sides of the pond creating huge interest and drama. Herlings and Tomac are stupid-fast on their day, and Cairoli could be on for a 10th title at an age when most riders are racing the Vet class. The AMA and GPs are pretty even now which keeps both sides excited to the point where the MXdN is creating more interest than it has for years.

What more do some people want.? Just enjoy it ffs....

I just watched it back, nothing wrong with his attitude, he stated to be the fastest that day, very wrong of him to do that. Snowflake.

Hes the modern day James Stewart which there is nothing wrong with. REALLY fast but only 1 title to show for it and almost threw that one away. Surprised so much debate about how fast he is and nobody wants to dive into the real topic, why cant he stay healthy??????
