I am wondering if I would be ok on 125 with my height. I have been racing atvs as a child for a long time and now, few years later I want to get back on track. I wanna start slow, with a bike that fits me and gives me just enough power to clear the jumps. I have been on dirt bike only once as a child so that’s why I’m asking this dumb question.

A 125 is a full sized bike. It will be the same height as a 450.

The limiting factor is power so it depends on your weight if you will be too big for it.

I agree with the two posters above. I am 6’1” as well and my only bike is a 125. It will depend on your weight. I float around 155-157 and I feel a little heavy on the bike when the dirt is deep.

I’m 6’6” at 200lbs and my 125 does awesome for me. I used to race against a guy that weighed 250 racing a 125 and the man could make that bike move. A lot of it depends on how you ride and how much bottom end you have.

If you want a bit more power get a 150. I rode a friend's KTM 150 yesterday and it was awesome - incredibly fun bike.

Keep in mind 2 strokes are not the easiest bikes to ride ( small powerband ) most newbies ride their bikes like its a car ( wich is a 4 stroke also ) my two cents go to a ride / test day and try out some models, I think you are better of with a dualsport or enduro bike trail riding is a lot of fun ( start and play )

I'm 6'3" 200Lbs and my YZ125 does fine. It's fun as hell but i wouldn't chose it to race on a motocross track!

There is no appreciable difference in the cockpit height of a 125 vs a 450.

I'm surprised at some of you bigger guys riding 125's. I am 6'2" 205 lbs and have always felt that 125's were under powered. I am NOT saying that they can't be fun, but I just much preferred a 250.

Pastrana could make a 125 go pretty fast, I think you'll be alright.

I rode a 125 for a couple of years. I'm 6'5, 190lbs and had no trouble at all. Riding a 125 is an amazing way to improve corner speed.

Honestly, if you aren't trying to race competitively and are comfortable on a smoker I'd say go for it.

Most fun I've had a bike. I just personally don't dig them because I've been spoiled by a 450 for over 5 years and try to ride loam/sand tracks. But for the hard pack out here, I don't I've ever had more fun on anything than a 125.

They are great for beginners, yet people swear by them for also going faster because it teaches you efficiency and keeping up discipline in momentum.

Plus, maintaining them is a cake walk. Just keep her fresh and dialed.

Well, I’m about 75kg. Also, I have been riding my dads yfz 450 on practices and I know that 4 strokes are easier to ride. Still, I was racing only on 2 stroke atvs and that’s why I would like to start on a 2 stroke. I was only wondering if I would feel good on 125. Thanks for the replies. Hope I’ll start riding again, in a few months.

you'll feel like trash for a handful of rides as the type of riding required to keep moving is far removed from any 4stroke.

when i raced back in 2003-2008 i went back an forth a few times and it would take me a couple of weeks to get comfortable and back to speed

You're in Croatia right? Post some pics once you start riding. Curious what the tracks are like out there.

Two days ago I rode a legit MX track on a 2-stroke for the first time in 10 years. It was so much fun! I wasn't clean over all the jumps consistently but I didn't care because it was just fun to push the bike harder than I had to push my 450s. I was definitely sore yesterday. Riding 450s the last 10 years made me lazy.
