I truly am not complaining, doesn’t affect me one way or the other. Just an observation.
KRoc was on his way to being the next great champion before injuries killed that. Then we got the ho hum Eli Tomac. Finally we have a little piss and vinegar with Webb. This has helped generate a little more interest.
We are just kind of in this strange place with no truly great champions. I mean we got straight up smoked in our back yard last year at MXDN. And one of the excuses was they added some sand and water. I mean come on. Those kinds of excuses just kill the perception you are watching the best in the world. Because people don’t want to pay top dollar to see second tier talent. And currently that’s what we have. And that’s not worth the high prices and the long waits in line.
Just my opinion.

That being said , maybe you read what I said this morning? About how I would rather go riding , then sit for 3hrs in traffic.
" If " I lived down there and had a way to get into Pala super early , and leave later in the evening , I would for sure attend. I do that exact thing every year for Washougal. But if I couldn't?........I would rather load up and go ride , and watch the race later that night.
And if I chose to do it that way.....I would still be supporting my sport , just in s different way I guess. I love going to Washougal every year , and try not to ever miss one. I've been going since 1981 and have only missed a hand full.
But with Pala , and the traffic nightmares I've heard about , AND with GH doing what they are doing , it made me reply to the fact that I'd rather go hit a cool practice day , then have to sit in traffic.
Btw....... awesome to hear you are feeling better! I sent you a PM quite a while ago after I heard you got hurt. I didn't hear back , but I wasn't expecting anything , knowing what you were going through.

To me, it’s very clear what Glen Helen is doing. It’s an amazing deal they put together, but it is SO obvious they are doing out of spite, covering it up with a charitable feel. However, if people go to Glen Helen, so be it! People want to ride and aren’t obligated to be at Pala. Hanging with buddies, watching the national at a track is way cool. I won’t blame any rider for going to do that. However, the powers that be at GH know exactly what they are doing. They are trying to take away potential spectators. Let’s call a spade a spade.

I went by Andy Harrington as a racer, mainly because as a kid I didn’t like the name Regis. It was different. I liked Andy
I raced from the time I was 8. I rode for Team Green as an amateur. Until I was 17. I then turned pro and rode for Motorworld Of El Cajon in 97-98-99. In 2000 I rode for factory KTM. I was never great at racing, like I said previously I had great moments. But was a mid pack dude. I got 7th in a 125cc west coast race. That was my best SX finish.
At the end of 2000, after I lost my KTM ride due to sucking, I went to be an extra on the Disney movie “motocrossed”. I ended up getting hired to stunt double the lead ACTRESS and some of the actor. I was a smaller guy. I got into the screen actors guild. Did a few stunts on that movie.
I raced Yamahas in 2001, did ok, made some mains and got 11th at San Diego. At Salt Lake City that year was my last pro race . I broke my leg super bad.
I was a normal dude for the next 9 years. Worked at an Auto Body shop, was head judge of X games and Red Bull X fighters. Did some stunt jobs here and there but was kinda scared of getting hurt. In my short mx “career” (not really a career) I had lots of surgeries.
In 2010 I decided I wanted to be a full time stuntman. I went all in. Since then I have been in over 100 movies and television shows. I have been very fortunate.
Most recent film coming out I worked on, John Wick 3. Did an amazing crash and chase. Go see it!
