I was the emcee at the Supercross Open House at Wild West Motoplex in Houston Friday night. While interviewing Ferrandis I asked him if he would "cheat" a little if he won Saturday night and celebrate by having some of the area's famous Tex Mex food. At first if he said probably not, but after discussing it a little he said maybe.

Don’t feel too bad. I’m not that old and live in a well populated area but didn’t know what it meant either.

I don't know if it's Tex-Mex or authentic Mexican fare but there ain't much better eatin' on this earth than a well made Chili Rellenos (or worse if made badly). My first visit to any Mexican place is always a chili rellenos...if it's good...I come back and try the rest of the menu. If they wreck it...that's my last time. A bad ass fish taco is also hard to beat.

Don't know if you were being sarcastic or not...but I, for one, do find it interesting what these guys eat. Are they brave enough to eat at restaurants (risk of food poisoning or tampering)...only eat food prepared by family or appointed team member? Maybe only eat what they prepare themselves? Meat, veg, carbs? Does the menu vary during the week vs race day? I remember an old interview with Everts where he said he just ate plain pasta on race day.

I did a follow up question, asking if he would be having pasta for dinner Friday night. He said that he was going to have something a little "lighter", grilled chicken and some steamed veggies...

Are you guys allowed to video at these pre-race "meet and greets"? The only one I've ever been to was way back in 1975 or 1976 (Blush a long time ago). Rolf Tibblin was cool as Hell...talked to us young idiots like we were somebody's. Sat us all on bikes and showed us body positioning and other cool tips. Wish I had a video of that event.

TEX MEX IS 1 OF MY FAVERITE FOODS AND SO IS A BIG TEXAS STAKE WITH APPLE JUICE. EVERONE ALWAYS SAYS THAT EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS.

I hope you took him to Ruchi’s Mexican North West corner of I 610 & Main!

That place is great, that’s the only thing I missed about not going to the SX.

Pappasito’s Chipotle Shrimp appetizer, beef fajitas and add some crab cake stuffed shrimp for lunch. Margaritas for the win with company in from Atlanta for the race. Good stuff. The Newmann / Medical Components of America suite was a good time as well. We had the same great host as last year. Good friends, family and some good racing.
