To me, a true dark horse for the 450 win would be AP. We know he can ride outdoors well, so there's always the possibility he'll be feeling it on Saturday night.

For 250s, I don't think any of the top guys would really be surprising. I'd like to see Troll get his first SX win, though.

For 450s I’d say plessinger.

250s I guess Justin Cooper however I don’t know if he should be considered a dark horse.

That's what I was thinking with the 250s as well. I guess Oldenburg could be considered a dark horse, but I don't think Daytona is the track he'll get it done on.

Goon, I totally forgot about both of those guys. They're both good choices.

Justin Cooper would be my pick in the 250's. I don't know if he would be a dark horse considering he sits second in points, but I don't think many people are counting on him to win many races this year - at least in supercross.

The darkest of all the horses in the 450 class has to be Mike Alessi. After making and finishing his first main event in 2 years, I have to believe he is getting some sx confidence back. Not likely to win the main event but I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see him win a heat race or even lead a few laps in the main.

Can't wait for Daytoner

A guy who already has a main event win can't be a dark horse imo.

Cooper in the 250 class and Alessi in the 450 class. Alessi wont win but i can see a top 10 finish from him if he has a bit of luck with him.

I think my bud Kyle Bitterman will make it in the show. He rode great at Atlanta being his first race with no time on a SX track or even the bike for that matter. He got a deal with TiLube one week out. Was in 9th and crashed in the whoops, in LCQ was 5th and crashed in the whoops..

I think 17 will do well this weekend.

Then that would make him a real dark horse wouldn't it?

I wouldn't call Bagget a dark horse but he'd be my pick too.

With the way he's been riding, if he can stay injury free, he's my #1 pick for the outdoors. He seems to have the best conditioning as evidenced by his epic late race charges and he always seems to find some unique lines that others overlook. As fast as he is indoors, those traits are far better suited to the nationals than the shorter cookie cutter SX races.

Tomac. Based on his starts, he's a dark horse. Hopefully he has his bike pointed in the right friggin direction.

Whoever gets the start that so far in the series that has averaged in the top 6 will win Daytona. I believe this is Roczen’s race to lose. Tomac is damaged goods.

My dark horse is AP. It’d have to pay me four times my play to make that bet though.

EDIT: holeshot for start
2nd EDIT: start for holeshot

Tomac is a dark horse for the win. Read on Vital that he's a 10th place guy.

I’m going to pick Savatgy for the win, proved he can start well and riding awesome so far. Anything can happen at Daytona.

Alessi will holeshot a heat race this weekend! Daytona start straight is very much like an outdoor track.
