This little bad boy ' was on Ebay , for about £100 $130 in almost got it but , it needed probably a real good clean & blow out and I will wait until another pops up , part of me thinks I should of got it but then I have about 3 pipes at home I am never going to use that are real good second handle ones ... do I buy it and put it on a shelf ....

Thanks Motospeed , I also have this photo below . It all helps in the detail of trying to replicate these motocross bikes . Sometimes it's not the money , but the long wait for the parts to become available , I just noticed that Bills Pipe on Ebay has sold ... I'm thinking I should have bought it anyway , but I have to be more ruthless this build as on previous builds I have bought two of everything and then you have spares you never use .
I have also just watched a good video on you tube about , how they hand make Bills Pipes , & how Yamaha chose them over PC & FMF for the quality .

Thanks Max & Rocky I will have to look up Tom Morgan , it does sound like he's the man , we only have a few tuners in the UK & this bike build looks like it will have to have a few American parts on it to look authentic .

Tom worked my 83 KX. It runs so friggin good I can not say enough. But there's another side to getting work done. Like time frame, reliability and customer service. If he cost a little more he was 10x worth it on on every other area. I should shut up about him so he doesn't get too busy and not be there when. I need him. Seriously I'd have a hard time sending cylinders to another person after how he treated me.

Yeah i think Bradshaw was one of the first to use a Bill's pipe. I could be wrong. I'm sure another one will show up.. and i understand what it's like to go nuts buying too many parts! You do need a Bill's pipe though hey..

I think these are the decals you need for the front and rear guards (with a US flag over the 100% logo.. and 1800 Collect instead of Dunlop on the front guard).

4/14/2018 6:43pm
Thanks Motospeed, yes they look like what I need , in Honda red , though I'm not too sure if there is 1-800 collect on the 97 front fender , it seems funny to build a whole bike around one original seat cover , but these original parts are like gold dust , if you imagine what some people have just sat sitting in a garage somewhere doing nothing around the world . The internet is a marvellous thing we never had years ago, a godsend now.

I have a plated Bills pipe for your project if you’re still looking for one. If you could contact Robert Reynard (Robbie’s dad), you would get some very good and interesting information about what you’re trying to build. I don’t have his contact info, but was able to have a few hours of conversation, much of which revolved around the early years of Robbie’s career.

Hi all , no posts for a while , just getting together the all important parts . I now have some cool bits including the Bills pipe , HRC Clamps , an offer of an actual Lamson HRC tailpipe , I have located some Showa A forks & shock ( saving up for ) . I have had no reply from 100% regarding the original tank & shroud graphics are they still in business . Unless they do not deal from outside the UK .
Any cool parts or contacts please contact me .

Glad to hear your making progress! Not sure 100% does graphics anymore. I would think EVO-MX could re pop them for you closer to home.
Of course I feel like a cheapskate hearing about all your doing!

Thanks Rocky . It seems daily I'm scouring everywhere for bits and pieces. I would of liked original graphics on the build , but if 100% are not about anymore I will have to go copies , it's just I have seen some graphics copies and they look really bad ( I won't say the companies names ) I'm trying to keep to a budget , but that always goes well out of the window .

Have you checked with throttle jockey graphics? They have done team Honda’s graphics for a long time.

Well today I went up to an old friend of mine, Gary Butler who looked after my 1996 CAT bike back in the 90's Gary has been entrusted with the engine rebuild on this one and engineering wise he is one of the best in the business . The bike has a new crank and we are putting a Wiseco Clutch basket on it Gary looked at some of the options Talon Stock and Others and the quality of the Wiseco with its large oil ways looks the best .
Cylinder has been done and is back looking good and ready for new piston and rings . The tuned skimmed head may or may not go on , we have options but want to make a screamer rider' bike not a horsepower junkie .
The frame is sitting poised for its rebuilt engine and will soon start coming together . I have ordered a brand new set of wheels for the bike , which I will have to sell another kidney for . Anyone who says they can rebuild these bikes properly for under £500 0 must be joking !

So the Engine is now back , it had a little extra Re - re-building than I thought was needed. But GB was as always meticulous with it before handing it back . This build I'm not going to go all bolts re-zinc' like on other builds ,I'm going to use the if it's original clean and reusable , reuse it ! Even on my own bikes insometimes look at the shiny bolts and think they look cheaper, although they are actually the same bolt/nut that's been refurbished.
The SRS tuned carburettor is also back after being Sonically cleaned and polished . We will give it a try , at the same time as looking for an original powerjet or an original 36mm air striker. Ebay has an amazing array of Chinese air strikers but my heart & head says to stay well clear.
The front forks are still away getting a nice fresh coat of black nitrate and being re anodised .
The brand spanking new wheels are also in the boxes awaiting discs and tyres etc..
The Lamson rear shock will be difficult to replicate , so not sure what to do with that yet .. so open to ideas. I think in about another 3 months we will be there . The majority of the main jobs are done, the rest is cosmetics mainly and fine tuning .

Also have now some nice HRC Clamps to go on to make the bike a bit more trick . Black anodising to come off and be polished or silver like the original .

I wonder why Lammy is running #1 here, usually it's the 500's that were the lowest number on the teams.

Steve beat everyone in 1996 MXDN in Jerez including the 500’s . I believe he was the best all round 125 Racer in the World between 95-97 .He was officially #3 , however, he rode with #1 .

It looks like in 97 the FIM changed it to where the 125 used the lowest number and the 500 got the highest, whats weird is that there is a photo on here of the same bike with #3 on it in the pits. He did beat the 500's in '96 but I don't remember him beating the 250's.
