Saw on here he took a rock to the chest in the first qualifying session. Don’t know if he fell or not

He got hit hard in the chest by a rock thrown by another bike during qualifying IIRC

If only there were hard plastic protectors to prevent this type of issue...

Seely is out at Honda for sure. Mid season and there is nothing to show.

He's raced since A1. I say he retires after this season.

it's strange with all the rock and debris in that dirt, that a factory rider on a team with a multi-million dollar effort behind him would take that kind of risk....I find it hard to believe he doesn't wear something under his jersey...maybe the rock got around it?

I bet if I never wore a chest protector I coulda beat Jeremy McGrath.

Uhhh he DID just win a heat race last week .. which is a lot better than some other factory guys have done so far ? dude breaks his pelvis in half, almost retires, comes back and within the first 6 races gets a heat race win. then takes a Boulder to the chest and all of a sudden he’s washed up and done ?

Yep but word Nerd would tell you it restricts movement and you can't flow. Whatever happened to that argumentative idiot?

Why can't they screen the dirt?

Yes, this also goes back to JG getting injured on some bricks in the sand at a SX.

I don't see why they won't spend the money to filter / screen the dirt. It is the same dirt over and over.

Exactly!! He’s a multi million dollar athlete , it should be mandatory for these guys to wear at least the minimal protection

No kidding. Guy's a factory rider and not a single word about not lining up.

It seems the producer doesn't understand that some people didn't by the Gold pass. During qualifying they interviewed Kehoe and talked about Cole taking roost to the chest. Said he was working with Dr G trying to go for the last qualifier. During the last qualifier Seely was barely riding around. Ralph and RC were watching him and saying it doesn't look like he'll make the night show.
...but then comes broadcast time and they don't update people watching on cable.

Thanks for the info. I fell asleep during qualifying and practice, so when I awoke from my brief coma, I just started watching the races.

I have seen some gnarly things on the tracks, Toronto 2016 after the wall jump into the sand rollers, there was a chunk of concrete the size of a small computer, right where the guys were landing. There were a few flat tires that night and cost Shane McElrath a second place finish. Also on Daytona track walk that year we found a piece of rebar sticking out of one of the jumps.

Man big fan of Seeley and his style. But I think his time is coming to close on a factory ride.

Unfortunately I might agree, his seat is getting hot. With Adam Cianciarulo moving up and Savatgy riding good I have to imagine one of those guys would fit in at HRC.

So if someone calls his season campaign mildly unsuccessful you feel the need to get all smug and talk down to people? Honda hires riders to win. It's not a charity and so far it's not outrageous to say Cole has under performed. Yes he had a terrible injury last year and nearly retired. But it's hard to use that as an excuse when your teammate is coming off his 2nd straight year of near career ending injury. One is fighting for a title and the other finally managed a 6th after spending most of the year outside the top 10. Cole is a good dude and all that, but results are what get factory rides. Unless he manages to become a consistent top 5 threat again I don't see how Honda re-ups him.

Ok, so I know this is a stupid question, but IF Seely is out at Honda next year, would he be eligible to race the 250 class? Would seem unlikely, but is it possible within the current rules?.

He's come along way in 1 year and we are all proud of him. He's been on factory Honda for 4 years. What a ride. I bet he could have success on MCR.
