Several years ago they had the pits outside and I think it rained. I KNOW it was cold and miserable.
I've gone to this race since 1989 when it was in Fulton Co. Stadium. I loved the racing and seating in the dome. The new dome is more cramped and the floor is too small. The track last year seemed really tight. The attendance used to be full capacity. When they put two Atlantas on the schedule I was sure it would sell out both weekends and we went to both races. Attendance had started to drop off and they weren't full. Now the new dome wasn't even full last year. The second level, mezzanine seating used to be padded seats as well with nice carpeted eating areas. The new dome is just plastic seats like all the upper and lower levels. Lastly, the ticket prices are stupid. You used to get seats for $60 or $65 each, no matter where you sat. If you were in the end zones or nose bleeds I think they were $10 cheaper. Now, the way Ticketmaster works. The first row mezzanine are over $100 each and depending on how many seats are left in a section, could be $75 or more. Add all that to the theft and danger of that city and it wouldn't be surprised to see them leave Atlanta off the schedule soon.
I was in the nose bleeds last year, and it was around $55 - $60. The refreshment prices are dirt cheap.
The pits were good to me.
Does an empty monster can still get you in?
Seriously, would suck a fat one.

Pit Row
Atlanta is the biggest race of the year for them when it comes to making money. It's why they tried to have 2 races there.
High attendance. But now low ROI. For Feld
Secondary causes are the hassle of getting in and out and the crime downtown with stolen bikes for the racers. The moto scene in the Southeast has dropped off quite a bit from the early to mid 2000s. I guess that isn't helping a lot either.
