Picked up a pair of Fox Instinct's. I can close the top without an issue. I'll need a longer strap for the second form the top buckle, I call Fox tomorrow, I'm sure they'll hook me up. Other then that, they fit as is and feel pretty good.

Thanks to everyone for the tips, suggestions and help. It's appreciated!!

Gaerne's rock for wide feet and thick calves.

I have Gaerne SG10's as they have the widest width I could find however the calf size is only good IMHO. It fits my large calves but leaves the front of the boot open so water, sand, dirt etc get in easy.
I also have a pair of 2014 Alpinestars Tech3's as they are almost as wide and easily handle big calves. They didn't last long however. I am now looking at the new tech 3's and 7's as they both seem good for wide feet and big calves.

Old thread. But thought it might help to add to it.
I have wide Flinstone feet. Big ass calves. 9 1/2 shoe size. Have always had an issue with boots. Last ones were Tech 8’s I have had a long time. Had them modified by a boot cobbler to fit. So I milked them for years. Still had to duct tape them to keep them on. Was always losing buckles because I had to have them on the last tooth to fit. So they would often pop open.

Tried the new Sidi Crossfires. Way to tight on my wide feet! Calves seemed pretty good after adjusting them out. Had to send them back. Not even close on foot width.

Guarne SG 12 were next to try. Ordered some size 10. Adjusted them all the way out in the calves. Foot size was good. But calves adjustment was still not quite enough even withou my knee braces my lower legs got numb. There are no longer straps available. Dont fall for the ones on amazon that say they are 7”. They arent. Same size as ones already on your boots. Long story short I used the extra ones and spliced them to double them up. Worked great!

Still have to deal with the shin guard not covering the black liner/rubber all the way. And I need to extend the little plastic piece as well to keep it from jabbing into and puncturing the rubber liner material. Will figure this out next.

Ya beat me to it. Here’s some boot testing at the test track with the technicians.

TA welt sole version is wide, quite wide actually. People attribute narrow fit to all Sidis, but the TA version is very different.

Also has the most calf adjustment.

Hope that helps.

Had the exact same issue. My calves are bigger than most bodybuilders truth be told. I'm 6ft and 180lbs but for some reason my calves are like someone who's 260lbs, I found the Tech 7's to be OK along with my XXL EVS knee braces, but like you the top buckle is on the last bit of thread and I can only JUST get the valcro to barely touch on the edge, but they don't come undone so I'm happy.

Tech 10's are a big fat no, they just don't fit at all.

I had Fox Instincts, they didn't close properly and after a few rides the top female buckle actually come unscrewed from the boot itself. So I sold them.

Gearne SG12 seem like the way to go for us big calve guys. They're my next purchase once the Tech 7's are dead!

This pic is the SG 12. 20” calves. I am only 5”8” with short legs. Possibly my calves get bigger sooner in the boot( shorter distance) than a longer legged dude.

Homade straps. No shin guard or knee brace. Just jeans. No way would these fit me after knew braces without extending the straps. You can see the shin guard does not close up all the way. That my next fix soon.

any one know of shin/knee guards that are thin in the shin area. I use thor and they are way to thick down in the boot area

DirtDgr those are some big calves! I am 5'-8" with wide sz9 feet and 17" calves and my SG12's are great! The calf adjustment in the boot is enough for me!

17 1/4" calves and the Instincts and Sg12s were good for me......I prefer the Instincts overall!

TCX Comp Evo is a really good boot. Adjustable shin plate for guys/gals with larger calves. I'm a few hours into my first pair and no complaints at all so far.
