Wish dogs could live longer.
And peely ah didn’t know about Roland passing man. So sorry. He reminds me of my current labradoodle Rufus. Rufus is 7 already. Feel like I just got him yesterday. Found a lump on his side the other day and im worried about it.
Dogs are just as much as family as kids are. Thanks for sharing.
Greyhound racing was banned temporarily in my state a couple of years ago as it was discovered that there were massive burial sights all over the place plus a heap of other cruel stuff going on.
It was my wife's dog, he was 4 when we meet. He always kept a eye on her and down to try and kick your ass if you got close. One time when we first started dating, I came over to her place to eat dinner. I sat on the couch wit her to watch tv, if my hand moved anywhere near her he would light me up! At first I was like typical little dog, never was a fan of little dogs. We'll 12 years later he was my best friend, man he was down for whatever, loved to ride anything, tractors, cars, trucks, motorcycles, lawn mowers, he just loved it.
Didn't know how I would take it, worried more about my wife, but man that little 6lb dude got me, its just horrible. We did everything we could for him. He almost made it to 16. RIP Chito

I had (well, stepmom had, but he loved me the best...) a Boxer named Unferth. (Character from Beowulf, if you must know.)
Anyway, he died of canine leukemia in the '90s. We were all pretty bummed for a long time, but eventually life got back to normal.
One day when I was going to go race, I had forgotten to set my alarm. I had a dream that Unferth was running full-tilt in a huge garden of flowers, just having the absolute best day, living his best doggie life. He must have thought he was a Greyhound because he loved to run. He gave me a moment's look as he went past at mach 10, just sort of a "whassup?" Super happy. The dream was so cool and vivid, it woke me up. My alarm would have gone off one minute before, if it was on, which it wasn't. Unferth had come down from heaven to wake me up so I didn't oversleep.
Like I said, you never really lose a dog.
Pit Row
This was jade.
Indy I lost my sweet Mojo at 10 to Lymphoma cancer as she was having a real hard time breathing even though she was still sharp as a tack.
I remember the night before lying on the floor with her crying and hoping somehow she could understand.
The next day I made the call to the vet and they did the procedure in the van with me in their parking lot--she hated going to the vet, but luved going for rides in the van.
Took me awhile to get over that and to the guys who lost their dogs, the best healing is another one.
Take care guys--just know that your dogs all loved you and I'm sure you gave them a great Life--that's all a Pet can ask for.....
I currently have a cat (Smokey) who sleeps by my head and purrs very loudly. It really helps with my tinnitus when I try to go to sleep.
Already dreading the inevitable...
