I don't think Dungey threw the last race, he just looked like he didn't have that little bit of energy between a good run and a great run. He was clearly the best rider on that track early on, but his intensity degraded just enough over the night to where he couldn't maintain it. The 2nd run probably took everything he had left. He's in shape, just not championship shape. And nobody is going to care who won a week from know, only that it was a great show.
