I scored a VRP fuel tank with out the gas cap or fuel valve to find out the Honda cap and valve don't fit. Before going through modifying the tank or valve, hoping someone experienced this and point me in the right direction.

Fill opening is 50mm opening including the threads, 39mm inner, fuel valve has a 35mm bolt separation and 10mm drain hole

I've just got a nearly new one for my 91 CR125. They came with a special tap that took the fuel to the right (towards the carb) as opposed to downwards, as with the extra capacity the fuel line would run too low to get to the carb otherwise. Not sure where you can get replacements but nino is the man to ask.

Fuel caps, they all came with Acerbis ones...still made today and very readily available on ebay for cheap. I think they only do 2 sizes, the small i think you need for vrp?

Thanks, I looked at the available caps and ordered a small hope it works, the fuel valve may be a sticking point.

I ordered a fuel valve for a generator for now, it has a 10mm threaded spout and 90 degree outlet, if I have to I can tread the tank and use this, going to keep searching in the mean time.

I ordered the correct for this tank, NOS fuel valve.

Wolfly will have it in his sweaty grubby hands very soon. DO NOT mess up this tank meathead.

Wolfman, I did get the two new knees last January and I started riding this April. Well, it is not all roses and rainbows.
I have a painful time standing from the seated position. If no bump is present, I must slide to the back of the bike and stand from that position.
I am looking for a cure.
Got a garage full of bikes waiting for me to figure this out.
I will be trying again tomorrow. Going back to my 2013 KTM with the tall seat kit. That helps reduce the pain.

I have one on my 89 CR250. It is smaller capacity than all the others i have seen, without the low slung left hand side. I'm not sure of it's history but I bought it from a guy in Germany.

What capacity is it?

I'd imagine it's fairly small, what with the Air Channels in it. 8 / 7 litres?

I haven't measured the capacity yet, certainly not made for long motos, supercross maybe.

The tank you have there is for a '88 125 !
That's why it's this high on the sides as it's supposed to make room for the exhaust. Those tanks got made to convert 88s to the newer looking 250 plastics which followed the year after on the 89 model.
