Come work in healthcare for 5 years. Then see if you’re still bangin the drum for universal healthcare ?

Nobody in America goes without healthcare. Nobody.

This thread really sucks now. not sure if Alessi will ever get a thumbs down on his last post. but the mxgp guys don’t race for purse money ? Yet they’re faster. I don’t get it. Is it really a money issue ?
Do you know anyone in America? Because, Yes they do fo without.. Especially if its not an Emergency.

Do you even understand how an ER there works now? They only have to take you long enough to know you arent going to die, and then kick you to the curb. If its not life threatening, they dont even have to see you. *Broken leg, not compunded and bleeding............NOPE.

And if you have health insurance there, the doctors get your insurance info. If you have a massive deductable, you have to pay it. So if your deductable is 7500 and your bill is 7,000, you better have 7,000 otherwise they dont have to see you. If you;ve paid a portion of your deductable prior, you gotta pay the difference until the Insurance kicks in. They've all been biurned too many times. No money no healthcare.

In short, you dont get your healthcare. Your welfare people get what we get. No bills, no problems no worries, no bankruptcies etc. Your VA is similar as well.

He was very calm for winning a million during the press conference. I dunno. The whole thing seemed staged.

Both Raplh and Jeff talk about Tomac paying off Joey.

A lot of people call themselves machinists when they are really operators (button pushers). If you aren't capable of carrying the process from start to finish (program the part, source materials, choose tooling, make fixtures and run parts), you aren't a real machinist. Those guys are hard to find make way more then $15 an hour.

You aren't a real machinist if you can't hit numbers on a manual machine. Programming and running parts is for amateurs. These days the later pays better, but the for former takes the skill. Hitting numbers on a Monarch is nearly a lost art.

By the way, I'm not a machinist. I'm a Tool Maker.
I still correct my wife all the time . The real skilled guys are keeping a CNC going ,an EDM burning , some kind of manual machining or writing a program for the next op. Those are the guys who are making top dollar around me .

Josh Hill had a story on Instagram of him partying with Jesse the winner and Anderson.

@Jesse13Heb but nothing came up when I searched on Instagram.

As far as health care goes, there are so many things wrong with our health care system its not even funny. Let's start with the biggest two..let's actually get our hospitals and doctors to truly heal people and not have them come back for unnecessary appointments. Second, why don't we get the medical industry to quit gouging us and the insurance companies on medical treatment. Medical charges are insanely too high.

I will end with agreeing with disbanded and saying take it to non moto if you want to talk about this.

You can outline the issues, but tell me what your fixes are? Way I see it, those issues are the direct response of a capatlisitc healthcare industry. Capitalism is fine, in fact great for many things. But maybe a touch of socialism in the healthcare industry would be good.

Back on point. I can see the riders seeing that as a slap in the face. I couldn't help but wonder what those monster girls were thinking as that guy was getting amped about his million dollars. They had to put on a fake smile for him so they can collect whatever shitty check monster kicks down to them.
How many riders showed up and lost money to put on a show for monster? What about the guys building the track? Film crew? Lots of folks that woulda liked a slice of that million.

Whats a bandaid at the hospital cost? $75?
You're not paying for the band aid. You are paying because you had to go to a doctor to find out that you only needed a band aid, and Tylenol or Motrin.

Lol. I don't know but something doesn't seem right. Was Hill posting "Jesse's" social media account a slip up? Maybe.

I don't get why there's no search results.

Classic, somebody from Canada trying to tell an American ICU nurse about how healthcare in America works. You're wrong. I work in the ER. We legally can't ask about insurance info until the patient is seen by the doctor. We admit people all day long who are homeless, or just because we know they are probably not going to follow up.

If they can't afford insurance the hospital does everything they can to get the patient on Medicaid so they get paid. If you don't qualify, they cut your bill way down because they know that will make you more likely to pay it.

Most hospital doctors in America work for third party companies too, so they really don't care if the hospital gets paid, they focus on taking care of the patient.

Right! Those of us with insurance pay $75 for a single bandaid so 75 people without insurance can be given a bandaid for free...

Was at the Monster party last night too and saw Jesse having what appeared to be a good time and looked genuinely exited about being the winner. Not sure he would have been having to act that way amongst mostly Monster people if it was all part of an act or skit

I also don’t think that Monster puts that much thought into marketing gimmics, such as the after effect that a cash game would have on riders and their concern about purse payouts. It was a gamble and they lost. Pretty sure thats all it was.

While I understand your frustration, I would be frustrated as well.

It is not the freeloaders that are the burden on your health care system, It is the corrupt system that allows hospitals and drug companies to charge whatever they want. And then GUESS what happens... They don't get paid.

Shocker!

First off, the guy is in the Military. Your VA and Welfare is social medicine. Same as the rest of the world. No bills. No payments, no copays.
2nd of all, Doctors get paid by the company unless its a private operation. So they have no idea how billing works.

You've never actually checked into the laws. I can see that.

If someone walks into an ER in America, all they have to do is make sure that its not life threatening, stabilize, treat and boot them out. I have called numerous to know the rules in case it was ever needed. Call yourself and ask.

If its life threatening, they have to get you to a point of where you wont die, and send you on your way back to your primary care... Past that, they do not have to treat you. They do not have to incur the costs. Again, check for it yourself.

You cannot walk into a doctors office and get healthcare in America unless you or your insurance is going to pay the bill. Up Front, or with a pre authorization.
In fact, doctors offices want that info so they can see what you owe and how much on deductable before they will treat you, and they want to be paid up front for services or the balance of your deductable, or the co-pay..

To verify this, just walk into any doctors office or urgent care center and ask. Or read the signs. Not that hard to do.

Thats why they want your insurance info up front. Doctors do not have to treat you. Thats why all your illegal immigrants walk into the ER when their screaming brats have a runny nose. They get something for free and then leave.
If they walked into Doctor pumpkins office, you're gonna tell them to beat it because you can AND because they cannot pay for services.

And I've never seen a doctors office or had one tell me you can pay after. Because they know they will never see 10 cents. Again, go to one and ask. They come back and discuss intelligently.

The more I watch it, the faker it seems. How does some random guy know who all to thank without prior teaching?

Racers dont even thank the right people and they do these press conferences all the time. Im not one for a conspiracy, but this guy obviously had the answers to all the questions prior. Seemed to scripted and calm for a dude who just wont all that money.

i found his instagram pretty easy yesterday. Seemed like a normal 20-something to me. He is a skater, had a few clips doing some decent tricks.

Has anyone heard HOW he was picked or what he won to get there in the first place? They mentioned it was a sweepstakes or something and they also showed him in one of those money booth things.

If he's not a full blown moto fan maybe it was some sort of contest they were promoting at Monster accounts like liquor/convenient stores or something? I never saw any PR or announcement about this "Fan Contest" for the million on any moto sites except Mattes mentioned it once in a podcast but he didn't seem to know much either.

I'm the FARTHEST thing from a conspiracy theorist but I will say the whole things just seems odd...

I never heard of any contest, never saw anything promoted, never heard or saw anything on here either.

His interview at the presser is far too scripted. He knew who to thank, what to say, ........I agree, pretty odd.

Come on. He watches the sport. They thank the same people week in and week out. It’s not hard.

If he was planted there then he made a terrible error when he also mentioned Rockstar.

thanks...still doesn't really explain much but it does say there are 10 winners flown to Vegas.

Here's my guess...he was one of the 10 initial sweepstakes winners. The booth thing they showed on TV was probably some sort of challenge they all competed in during the day, which he won. At that point he picks a rider he thinks will win the Monster Million and if that rider does, he wins as well...

Either way, for how much airtime and attention they gave him on TV they sure did a shitty job of explaining the whole thing

10 people went head to head in air cambers doing a cash grab. Jesse was the winner with $400ish. If the racer that wins the first main won the million he got the million (he didn't even have to pick a winner). He actually said in the stadium he was an Anderson fan before the racing started. Obviously that quickly changed when Eli won the 1st and 2nd mains

His interviews in the stadium throughout the night were gold. Was almost like he was mocking anyone that has ever interviewed terrible. It was too good.

Yeah everyone talks about how good his interviews are, and all I hear is a ton of sarcasm. Even when he says he is the biggest fan, that is all sarcasm.
