Why don’t we give Cooper Webb a chance on the new bike before we take his number and career shit !!!
Seriously, he’s getting shit on ten minutes into the practice on his new bike, turns the fifth fastest lap and the place goes silent

Quick question.

Does anyone know if Tre Fierro is eligible to race the amateur all stars class? He's listed on there but he rode for team Mexico just last weekend at MXdN. Isn't that a pro event?
Technically once you win purse money or are paid a salary to race, you're a professional. Not sure if actually competing in a pro class qualifies you as a professional. (Its a long debated gray area of Pro-Am and "Open" Classes)

Thats why kids parents are paid millions or the money goes into trust funds, or, the sponsor buys you a million dollar motorhome and your parents a house as payment. Or a new truck.

Sponsors can also pay you millions for endorsements, still be an "amateur" This is also why the Olympics are no longer an amateur event.

A true amateur can't compete against people being paid to compete in various other ways.

Pretty impressive time for a French rider (who is not on a muddy outdoor track).
It's because they added sand to the track.
Otherwise he wouldn't have competed

That's why I'm asking. They might be eligible. Is the amateur All-Stars class a mixture of "A" and "B" riders?

Even then if those 2 rode the MXdN race and the final MXGP race wouldn't they be ineligible for "A" class?

For example up here the rules changed this year. The National 250 class is a pro-am class allowing B/Intermediate riders to line up but if they do they are no longer eligible to race at Loretta's. For that reason a lot of B/Intermediate riders didn't line up at the Nationals to keep their B status down in the US.

Webb looked much better in that second session. Right on pace really. Whoever the guy was giving him shit after the first free practice, probably just isn't a "fan". I'm thinking he's going to be much better on the KTM and with that team behind him.

I get what you're saying but in order to race an MXGP event or the MXdN you need a pro license that is assigned to you by the federation (AMA, CMA, Etc.) and not your local/regional series.

Purse or no purse, salary or no salary you shouldn't be able to line up as an amateur at an amateur event if you've been granted a pro license.

Yamaha needs silver rims. Looks so much better than blue or black.

I don't know how it's in the US but in Europe you can get a Day License.
I could sign up for a GP if I wanted. Just buy the license (you do need to do some medical tests but basically the most important thing is that you pay for the license).

I don't know what license they need in EMX but the fact that he rode a single GP doesn't mean he has a pro license today

That's odd to me. Can you only do that once?

They allow you to buy a day pass to give you the chance to race the pro class yet you're not pro. To me, you're either a pro or you're not.

Moreau an EMX rider raced the MX2 class at an MXGP event. The way I see that is that he graduated to the pro/MX2 class.

Only day pass we have in Canada is a 1 day license to give riders the opportunity to try their hand at racing without having to pay full price for a yearly license.

Who’s in Vegas tonight?

I’ve heard that the over/under on Kawasaki malfunctions is 3.... and I’d like someone to put $100 on the over for me.

If Tomac wins main 1 and 2 and his motor seizes on the last lap while leading main 3, does he sue his employer?

Moreau is impressive. US fans should get used to him in the future.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Jo Shimoda Japanese? I recall him doing the World Juniors a couple years back when he was on a 85 representing Japan.

I know of one amateur racing tonight in the all star class who’s dad(being a family friend) told me they were going to have to buy the kid a house so he didn’t get screwed on taxes.. these kids are making good money as “amateurs”
