Looking for a full time practice mechanic for the Clermont, FL area for a factory level Pro Am rider . Must have experience working in the MX industry as a mechanic, former racer a plus . Proficient in troubleshooting 4 stroke engines, suspension set up. Great communication skills a must. Will be in contact with team personnel and must be able to articulate issues as they arise.

Job duties as follows:

• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining 3-4 Bikes.
• Ability to tear down and rebuild bikes, troubleshooting, and fixing bikes as needed.
• Responsible for ordering parts and maintaining a parts inventory.
• Great attention to detail.
• Required to assist with practice...lap times, maintaining bikes during practice sessions, pitboard etc.
• Responsible, Non Drinker/Drugs/Smoking. Must be able to pass a background check. Current Drivers License required/Clean MVR.

The non-drinker is a deal breaker for me.

All for being professional etc, but a guy can’t even have a beer in the evenings when he gets home and winds down? Totally understand not wanting a heavy drinker/drunk but an occasional beer is surely acceptable?

Yesterday I had butterscotch schnapps for breakfast....
Then followed it up with a tin of sardines and a drink from the balsamic vinegar bottle.
Mighty fast at tyre changes though!

it takes a 6 pack of suds to tear down and rebuild a bike properly. As for lap times and pit board, I have it covered "Breathe and go faster"

I guess I should clarify. No alcoholics. Once you are finished with your job duties, no one cares if you have a beer. I need someone dependable. I can't hire someone that regularly gets sloshed and can't get to their job on time or is hung-over all day. The rider is making a big transition this year. He isn't a spoiled little rich kid that's out spending mommy and daddy's money. This money is his and we need someone like GuyB said...professional.

Salary is negotiable. There will be bonuses as well.

8 years ago right out of college I would have jumped all over this. This would have been a great opportunity. You should post this on the motorcycle industries job board. I cant remember the website, but they are a new sponsor on the PulpMX show. The link should be on there. I think that would be a better starting point than here.

Man. What time-span are you talking about?

I have dreamed about going to the states and just try out to wrench on bikes for some time to try it out.. a bed, food and some pocket change would do it all!Tongue

Swedish and self-contractor so I could be away for a while..

Have always kept my bikes in fairly good condition (people say im too picky) and work on them myself, apart from suspension valving..

Being that you are in FL . look up Cory Huberty he is in Clearwater . has worked for RJ Hampshire . this past year i believe he worked for Lorenzo Lucrussio not sure i spelled that correct .
