Never been to the track, any local knowledge on where to head for the best spot for spectating? I wonder how early we should get in there? Anyone see a detailed itenerary?

Flying all the way from Sydney, Australia. Land in San Francisco 2 weeks before the race. Gonna drive all the way so I am open to suggestions on the route and places to check out on the way there. Wink

Good moto buddy and I are flying from Texas. First redbud and first des nations. Can’t fuckinh wait. We’ll be there Thursday-Monday ready to party and cheer on our riders!!

Well after careful consideration we decided to hit the buy button on the newly available Hole Shot Club tickets. I can't believe we are paying this amount of money to see a race but hey the experience is going to be "priceless". Looking forward to watching the best in the world.

I did the same thing... Yes, $450 a pop is a hard pill to swallow, but when you consider the total amount of money you'll be spending on attending the event (travel, lodging/camping, food/drink, merch etc) the extra $265 per ticket (general admin weekend pass doesn't include pit passes) isn't that bad considering a guaranteed good vantage point to watch the race, plus a covered tent for protection from the elements, plus TV monitors and audio, easy access to refreshments and amenities... for what's being billed as the most significant motocross race ever held on US soil!!

After looking at the redbud website. It says absolutely no pit vehicles. Kinda weird they aren't allowing golf carts to make traveling easier than walking.

Yep I did the same thing with the same thought process...gonna be interesting haven't been back to MI in 20+yrs...

That would then require a golf cart parking area. I'm sure every inch of space on the property is precious

Oh yeah it's gonna be packed for sure. It also says no pit bikes/razors. When you know there's gonna be hundreds of people with them.

We bought GA and camping back in Dec. and didn't think it was gonna get this big. Now that everything is sold out I called today got a refund for the GA and bought two hole shot passes because I want to at least be able to watch the race. There will be so many people there all the good spots will be way to packed.

***ANYONE NEED A HOTEL ROOM???**** I reserved two rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn in Benton Harbor, MI. Looks like my group will only need one room. 2 Queen beds with a couch that pulls out into a bed. Let me know

First Des Nations tho. Staying at a buddies house who lives in South Bend that weekend. I saw enough in B lot when I was 12 before they gated it up. You are all going to be having the time of your lives. I'd love for a VitalMX meet up somewhere in Mishawaka or South Bend that weekend.

I'll be at Ironman next weekend as well. I'm still trying to wash the bad taste Washougal left in my mouth a few weeks ago. Nothing like Midwest MotoX!

Sounds like an awesome trip. So much great stuff to see on the way out to Michigan. Of course it depends what you like. If you are into sightseeing the California Coast down through Big Sur is beautiful, but you live at the coast, so you might consider Yosemite in California, drive through Yosemite over Tioga Pass, drive down to Vegas (if your into that sort of thing), Grand Canyon in AZ is really close, Zion National Park in Utah, Moab, drive across highway 70 through Colorado, incredible scenery. After that things get a little dull (no offense to folks from Nebraska, Iowa, etc. Wink If I were you I would most of the time west of Denver Colorado, maybe save a day or two for Chicago. You probably know its about 2000 miles from San Francisco to Red Bud!! But, you can easily cover 700 to 1000 miles per day though if you are ambitious and just cranking away... Just don't be the fastest guy out on the freeway and you are unlikely to get a ticket. Plenty of places to ride along the way if had an inclination to rent or borrow bikes...

Get on Rt 31 North from Indy and drive 2-1/2 hrs north,

I work with a bunch of Italian guys, so I intend to bring them to see Tony Cairoli (presumably?) and company get roosted by our guys Tongue
