I'm a big Reed fan, but what makes you think he would fare any better than Waters who is also coming off injury, currently is in the MXGP?

Gibbs faired pretty well last year at MXoN.

Evans is an unknown on the international scene as of yet, but as a 19-year-old he certainly kept Ferris honest on the toughest track of the series in Aus at Coolum.

Not saying Chad is not a better choice than Gibbs or Evans, but I would not go putting my house on it until seeing Chad race. Who knows where his actual pace is at maybe it is better than the current guys, maybe it's not close.

Would be awesome to see him line up this weekend, all questions would be answered to some degree.

"Evens certainly kept Ferris honest on the toughest track of the series in Aus at Coolum." I must have been standing at the wrong Coolum for that race you are talking about....because at the Coolum I was at for that race Ferris won both motos by 30 odd seconds!! You call that being kept honest???

Hey jemcee, maybe you have the shits for no reason? Can you please show me where Chad used the word "smoke"???

Time to put up or shut up, Chad. You just said you'd lay waste to every Australian except Dean Ferris. Go on, race a national. Let's see how fast you are. Do it. NZ champ Cody Cooper is not a bad yardstick; I'm sure you'd smoke him!
...but you won't turn up. As they say on here, stamp it. You'll tease your nut huggers on social media, drop hints, troll everyone, all the while looking more sad as you yet again fail to show up & put your money where your mouth is.
Prove us wrong.

Should mention I'm a big Reed fan and most of my posts here are defending or talking him up but this whole thing has annoyed me though especially when he brought up other Aussie riders so I'll stand by piss or off the pot haha

You don't know where you got it, probably from somewhere on here? You are exactly right....you got it from on here!! This place is better at Chinese whispers than any Kindergarten class at any school!!!
I am a big Reed fan as well, hence why I eventually had to say something about all the people on here misquoting him.

I think it would be fair to say that every Aussie on vital, so many of us that were offended when Chad said he could beat anyone on the Australian team that was chosen for mxon, are hoping like hell that Chad gets that JGR ride and fronts for iron man...it's his chance to put up or shut up.
If he thinks that he could beat Kirk Gibbs, Mitch Evans or Hunter Lawrence , straight up in 2x 30 min motos in a high pressure international race situation, then I think it's fair that we expect him to be at least top 6 in both motos at iron man..
I really hope he races and I really hope he excels, this social media whinging bullshit is just plain embarrassing, not the sort of thing Brett Mettcalfe would ever d.o

Well... to be fair there's probably a bit of truth in both sides.

Gibbs at home in Aus. Yeah, he might be surprised by how quick they are.

But a big international, Reed is proven and if you put them on the same track at Ironman or MXdN i'd not be surprised if Reed did better. He's not going to shrink from the moment at all, he'll do as good as his prep/fitness allows. That's not entirely true each time a home-based talent heads overseas for a big event.

Speed-wise, Truman basically told you his laptimes were probably matching Weston's on that mid-week pulp pod... He said he's good for about 8th. Weston has been there or there abouts.

Two motos though – I'd not be surprised if he top 5's moto one and is smoked for moto two.

Dang Medaglia can't even get a new jersey from Astars and has to put new numbers over his
old. Obviously the old name and number are sublimated into the jersey so it's not the end of the world but still.

Come on Astars you're already sending someone there with Barcia and Anderson's gear just throw some stuff for Medaglia in there.
The jersey Medaglia has is sublimated, made with all the team logos printed in and these have to be ordered weeks, if not months in advance.

By example, when Shift got the Geico deal before outdoors they raced with iron ons for the first race because it was too short of notice to get printed gear made in time. And they had around a months heads up...

For this, A-Stars wouldn't have had enough time to make him another jersey...so he had a number printed over his sublimated number.

Barcia and Anderson's gear was made months ago...

Gibbs did do well last year, great starts in the rain definitely helped, but if you look at his Aus results he and Waters were always on par.

Evans raced mxon for Aus 2 years ago, check his results he got monstered, to his credit though he was a late call up after Jay Wilson went down.

I still believe Reed would have no problem handling any of these guys in Aus with the exception of maybe Ferris and Lawrence.
Didn't Evans fill in for Beaton when he got hurt before Maggoira? I thought Luke Clout filled in for Jay Wilson when he got hurt before Ernee. Could be wrong

I heard they call Truman “Boots” as that’s all you can see of him as he hangs out of Chads ass. This would be the same Peick that has or is just had his hand operated on as he cant hang on anymore?
Me i’ll ignore all the “social media hype” and wait till CR lines up and believe then.

Reed historically has never been one to lay down deliberate fast laps anyway.

He never actually won a MXD championship, he was leading it by a lot and broke his leg, then the next year (2015) for Serco he was leading the mx2 championship and done his collarbone which saw it slip through again. Then 2016 he won the mx2 championship for DPH. You could say I’m a big fan of him and I follow him closely as we grew up together in tassie as mates, he’s the same age as me.

Man I just looked it up to answer your question and for some reason threw in that other alternative fact haha, I don't know what's wrong with me lately that's twice I've read something and just made up a fact to go along with it..
The fuck's with that? Maybe part of getting older haha..

Anyway while looking for info about his age, on the mx nationals page they say he's 18 but they list his birth year as 1998 haha

Yeah it happens to the best of us! He’s definitely 20, born either 26/28 January 1998, it’s just weird that I always remember that because I have two other friends born on same day haha

Here's why you said that...part of cr22 follow up statement..

". It’s my opinion that there is no current Australian outside of Dean Ferris that could beat me with the effort I am putting in."

It was a stupid and inconsiderate thing for Chad to say...totally smacks of arrogance!
I dont care if he can beat those guys..let your racing speak for itself...dont wanna race then dont run your mouth about how you could beat others that actually do..
No he never said smoke but the implication was there...
If he doesn't front up for iron man...then hes100% lost me...total pussy move..

Hmm ? I think CR22 is entitled to his opinion like the rest of us..as a mater of fact, we are probably all guilty of statements like he made at one point of time or another. If I’m honest I definitely have and I also think he is correct in his thinking of how he stacks up. When that man has a fire under his belly or something to prove he usually delivers.

Doesn't matter if Peick is injured or not. It wasn't a braggadocios statement, it was a comparison of times is all and something that allowed you to guess the pace he's running.

He also said bike fitness would be the thing, so you might find he qualifies 5th–10th and is better 1st moto than 2nd.

Yes of course they are my opinion...I know Chad couldn't care less what I think...but then...why does he live via social media? Posting all, his thoughts and feelings via social media for all of his thousands of followers to see and read...Why? What is he hoping for? Sympathy, empathy, understanding ...I don't get it?
The guy is a proven champion...but he thinks he is still better than others despite not actually racing...fine! He can think that..I couldn't give a shit..But he's a pro, been in this a long time.. he should know better than to do what he's done...its costing me nothing other than a bit of disillusionment ..its costing him supporters...they seem to mean a lot to him, or he would not be someone who posts on social media

Yeah , I agree with you, which is why I'd love to see him race for jgr at iron man...he has a chance to really back himself..if he doesn't...then as far as I'm concerned, he's afraid that he might look a fool..that peollle might all start to think that he can't back up what he has said..

Just as you have an opinion so does he. His opinion was that he believes there's no Aussie outside of Ferris who could beat him. Everybody is entitled to their opinion.
You say amongst other things that you couldn't give a shit....you are saying an awful lot about this...maybe, just maybe you give more of a shit than you think yeah?

Hmm I have to disagree bro, he just rode a full SX season and came in with an injury that made it not possible for him to be prepared and he still showed up every Saturday night, He is certainly not afraid of getting beat and if he is not at iron man it is due to another reason.

You are right..hes entitled to his opinion...are you surprised that people are bagging him for it?
What I do give a shit about, is the disrespect it showed for 3 riders who are doing their best to exell in their sport...
His first statement saying he was dissapointed not to be chosen...fine offended no one..saying he could beat all those people in hus folliw up statement, based on his current practise regime is a wanky thing to say...even if it were correct.

This is just a fan forum... it's just some place to shoot the shit about the sport we love..I enjoy doing that..dont knock me for doing that..you are doing the same thing

Couldn't agree more with you OffRoadBro!

Do people really think Chad is sitting at home and saying to Ellie I better turn up this weekend and race or otherwise people will think I look like a fool for not turning up and racing and on top of that they might just think that I can't back up what I have said?

Post a reply to: Peick out for Ironman...Reed in for JGR????
