Vehicle For Transporting My Bikes

Look for a used Honda Element with under 150k miles. They can be had for cheap, parts are cheap, and I get about 23 mpg in my 5spd. Curt sells a hitch receiver rated for 350lbs tounge weight and it bolts straight to the frame.

Only downside in the MT is you’re at 4k rpm going 80.

Look for an AWD model, not 4wd. They get worse gas mileage.

Why can't a truck be a daily driver!?!?!?

When you need to park your vehicle in a residential community or city parking garage on a daily basis.

I have no interest in a truck. Nothing against people that like them but they are not my style. Plus, as mentioned earlier, I can borrow my parents truck but would rather not have to plan my riding days around their schedules. And I would rather borrow my parents truck then get a trailer. Please just suv or smaller vehicle options.

Most twinkies drive PT crusiers as their everyday car around here.

A truck isnt your style but maybe a nissan juke is? Interesting.

Just get a prius and borrow your parents truck.

You won't find a vehicle that will comfortably carry a hitch hauler that gets that much better gas mileage than a small to midsize truck. Get a car/suv and trailer, or a truck, or a van.

If a truck isn't your style, what is your style? Maybe be specific. SUV is too general. What SUVs or Cars interest you?

This gives us more info to help you with your decision.

To heck with a small SUV or small truck...they still get pretty poor mileage.
Grab you up an 07 Yukon/Tahoe and go the hitch hauler route.

Pretty obvious you just want to drive a car for cheap. Nothing wrong with that, just tell us. Look into the ford transit connect I suggested you on page 1. Yes it's a van but it's small enough to comfortably use as a daily driver. Plus the motor is only a 2 liter so the mpg will be pretty good compared to most trucks and maybe even SUVs.

Ford ranger 4 cyclinder would be more practical than a SUV capable of towing a bike 2 hours

2016 Mazda 3 no problems at all towing a 4x6 or 4x8 trailer. Looks weird but it gets the job done . Also around 25 mpg sometimes near 30 mpg towing the trailer.

I don’t mean to put you in debt as you seem like a very wise young man. My experience is to buy new or newer low mileage vehicles and get great gas mileage with no out of pocket expenses other than maintenance. If you go new look for great end of year lease deals for a nice low payment. You will recoup come of that payment with good gas mileage and no repair bills. Anytime my kids have opted for the very used vehicles (which is all you will get for 6-7K) they end up missing work, getting stuck on the side of the road, having towing and repair bills. Not to mention the newer cars/trucks are so much safer. Anyway there’s my opinion and sorry if anything newer is not a option.

6-7k can get you a very low mileage vehicle. I thoroughly disagree with your take on vehicles. That is a great way to end up with a lot of bills and no savings.

2-3k down typical for a payment then 300(on the cheaper side) a month then 130 a month for full coverage in one year Thats 8k in the first year. And those payments are every single month for 5-6 years. Never skip a month.

Take for example this ad i found recently. A ford ranger with 35k miles and looks absolutely brand new. It will average about 25 mpg, maintenance is ridiculously cheap, parts are cheap and every where, and it costs $6k asking price. 6k and you own it You wont need full coverage as its paid for which saves on insurance. Also saw a s10 with 56k miles for 2200 asking price.

Im sure the ranger would need normal repairs here and there but i guarantee it wont be every single month for 5 years like a car payment would be.

This doesnt even factor in depreciation. Buying new is a hell of an expense. If you're unwilling to do any looking for a good used car, unwilling to do any research, unwilling to do any repairs here and there then sure put 3k down and 500(payment+ins) a month for every month you own and use the car. Once its paid off 5-6 long years later surely it has 120k+ miles and is now ready to be traded in to start it over again. Leaving you with almost zero time with it that you arent paying on it.

I think by now you much have got the solution of transporting your bike. But in future, if you came across the similar situation, then you can hire Florida Transporter service by browsing on the link (http://floridatransporter.com/auto-transport-sarasota.html) without any hesitation. A friend of mine has used their service last month and was quite impressed by the quality of service he got in getting his bike transported safely. Such service always proves to be worth hiring.
