These sector times are so interesting. Eli has been consistently a bit slower by a few tenths in S1 (finish to holeshot line) when everyone was going for it, but then quicker in S2. So whatever he did after the finish was abit slower to the holeshot line, but set him up to carry speed down to the tables before the rollers.

Also...why the hell are there 4 sectors, on a 2:20ish lap time, and 1 of them is 1:25+? There is a much better way of breaking up this track that could inform us on where guys are making/losing time.

Way to get it done Tomac. But since we are bitching. What’s up with ama guy at the end of each race pointing and shit. I’m sure the top guys know where to go after they finish.

I thought I was the only one who geeked out on those sector times! I totally agree with you about how they break them up. Always seem to be 3 short-ish sections and one really long one. Maybe they have some constraints on where they put the sensors based on the track layout, but I would think they could even it out a bit more.

Thanks fellers. The flowers are exploding with the recent rains. Unfortunately, I started weedeating at 6:30 this morning and immediately was covered in skeeters. East Texas kinda skeeters. Slathered on some 99% deet from my GI days and survived. Anyhow...Kenny feelin' peppy...good to hear.
I don't think anything can grow here right now. Sad

It's the only way to really see where guys are gaining/losing, and how to follow pace when the broadcast isn't showing what you want to see.

And, it can tell you something interesting, I think - like that S1 vs S2 difference between ET3 and the others today. I forget what race it was, maybe Southwick? Or earlier...can't remember...anyhow, ET3 was damn near 2 seconds quicker than everyone in a 50some second sector, which was just amazing. You don't see that actual data unless you look at sector times. I just assumed everyone else did lol

Easy fellers....those guys getting lapped are the fastest guys from wherever they're from. They deserve the chance to get out there as much as anyone. Granted they could be more aware of where they are and not unduly impede the big boys but lappers are no more an obstacle than anything else on the track. When a line blows out you find a new line. If someone's in your line you do the same. This is not a race for elites only. Getting around lappers is a skill equal to scrubbing, skimming whoops, or hucking jumps....all part of it.

Is there any place to see the sections on a track map?

Man that track got rough, and 2 more motos yet to go.
Also Lappers are just part of the race, always have been. Just an obstacle to deal with. Variable and moving perhaps but part of the race.

On the live timing page if you click track map at the top they usually have the splits

Plenty of other places to retire that are more temperate. My parents are in tampa area. 4 months out of the year, my mom's inside hiding from the heat like we do from winter cold in the north

Yes. If you're on the live timing screen, there's a link at the top for the track map, which shows where the sector start/end marks are.
