In games like madden and NCAA football, if you play on the hardest difficulty you gotta be on your A game the whole game. Its intense and it's fun as hell. My winning percentage in NCAA football was probably about 70% on the hardest difficulty. And good teams in real life were the most difficult in the game. How are we so far behind in this aspect in moto games? I should not be lapping the field on the hardest difficulty. The AI shoots all over the track, flying off the track regularly, hitting each other like its bumper cars. It's just a joke. The AI has no concern for their own race, they usually just try to take you out at all costs. It's also kind of ridiculous to see the AI go from one side of the track to the other right into you while in the air, making the game look like a joke.

This group of guys bas been making moto games for over 15 years. To say theres any reason why they haven't been able to figure out how to make even semi decently competitive AI regardless of the size of the company is crazy. I mean it's not even like they're a little off either. The AI runs off the track every lap, dives for you instead of racing and most times ends up wrecking, and they're just ridiculously slow. Theres not a single track that I can go a 10 lap race without lapping the whole field. They're not new to making games. I could see being a little off but that's WAY off.
If I try and do a championship and I don't make mistakes and run good laps it's fine to win. If mistakes are made a lot with several crashes and still it's just lapping the ai that's rediculous. It's a problem area they need to fix for sure.

Allout is my favorite mx game for sure. They aren't the only ones making them now though. It's an obvious weak spot in the game they should do something about it.

We don't have a track editor with Allout so it's not like the ai are off because it's custom tracks. These are all tracks released by Rainbow. Soon will have dlc tracks also. Since all the tracks come from them you'd think the ai could be good on them. If they were custom made tracks I could see where that may be much harder to program.

the reason is because this is the first time they aren’t using their in-house engine. they are using the unreal 4 engine for the first time. and just like anything...they have to learn it. its like an artist being given completely different tools to use to create something. they can do it, but they have to learn how to use it. i don’t know much about gaming engines, but from what i’ve heard it’s a bit more complex. the potential is there, but it’s completly new to them. and i would imagine creating a game is rather difficult and complex when learning how to create it using something different and new then you’ve used for years prior. then there’s factors like time, money and team size.

i look at it like this. milestone has a lot more money, and a lot more people, and they released MES that was super buggy and you couldn’t get online..and this was the case for a while. you have rainbow with less then half milestones team size, and i’m sure a hell of a lot less money....learning a new gaming engine and they put out a game that has bugs and online issues just like milestone did. so who gets more credit when all things are equal. ok maybe not equal but you know what i mean. when i think about it like that....alll a sudden rainbow isn’t doing that bad of a job. especially when their connection to the community is far greater then milestone. remember, BRAND NEW game from rainbow....compared to mes which was a addition, physics wise... from gp3 and previous titles. i just don’t think rainbow did as bad of a job as people think

i’m not saying the new gaming engine is keeping them from having the ability to create faster ai....but i think it’s spread them thin in that area due to the amount of time they’ve had to spend elsewhere working on the game.

but honestly, i don’t really know what i’m talking about. that’s just what i think

I actually totally agree Rainbow did way better with this game than most give them credit for. You here complaints although I do think those that hate it are the minority, but to say the physics are terrible. It's hard to beleive they played the same game I did. I actually think it's the best mx game ever.

I also do know for a fact from what I've been told braap and I'm assuming ai wasn't exactly finished when they ran out of time. I just figure if I send the occasional message and keep posting about it they'll remember to finish what they started. Overall though the game is amazing.

I do think many who don't like it really haven't gave it a chance. I played MES some yesterday and I really haven't since Allout came out. MES is pretty simple to go fast on where Allout I beleive takes more skill. That's why we all say give it more time, once you learn it the controls feel natural and really good. Now MES to me feels really stiff.

We lucked out though this year we got some pretty good mx games. I like both, but when picking a favorite it's Allout for me.

I don't know about the reason the AI isn't intelligent being because it's on a brand new engine. Truth be told, Rainbow's AI has always been all over the place and super reckless and not that intelligent.

I do think All Out is a good effort from them but I won't blame the once again reckless and pretty illogical AI on a new engine. This has been an ongoing issue for years, in my opinion.

I think it has everything to do with the fact that in order to ride fast, and smooth, a lot of throttle control, contralateral and counter leaning forwards/backwards is required. I imagine the road ahead for rainbow programing the AI with these physics is gonna suck major ass. Seems to me the AI are binary, throttle one, throttle off, sharp turning etc, no real weight transfer control, just random body english.

As far as the ai riders I'm guessing it's very hard to get them to ride correctly. To have them think may be beyond what technology they have . I think a fairly simple solution would be for the development team to assign them laps, almost like it saves are fastest ghost time that we can race.

Maybe they could record laps and assign them a ranking. If it was done that way fastest lap times could be used for our top tier braap riders and a lower ranking for a mid pack guy. Sure they would have predetermined lines, but that may be better than the reckless inconsistency that have now.

I'm not sure how they could get the ai better. I don't know how it works as far as making a game. I am pretty sure they can do better than what it is now though. It's just a weak spot in a great game and when Milestone is making mx games if their ai improves Allout is gonna seem like the ai is worse than it already does.

curious as to what others are running at Toronto? i noticed a bunch of the leaderboard times are either super old or just wrong. i don’t have much to compare laptimes with. it’s hard to figure out what fast laps from others are sometimes while racing online because of mistakes during laps. let’s get some more vids up guys. this capture thing is cool

i guess it’s Arlington not toronto. lol my bad

Only thought that came to mind after watching that is man, i suck. Maybe i should quit playing video games altogether. On a side note the quads online are pissing me off.

I just did some ghost racing on Toronto my best was a 1.00.57. I’m pretty sure I could get a sub 1 minute time. I didn’t get a perfect lap, when I did I’d screw up somewhere. The ghost racing is really fun and with the bad ai it is probably the most fun way for me to play.

Any word on when actual new tracks will come out? Haven't played the game in a while because I got a bit bored of the tracks and freeride (my favorite part of the game)

my bad fellas i thought it was toronto. honestly i don’t really know many of the sx tracks by name. i guess the track is Arlington.

Lastander, without me looking at it...hit your xbox button on your controller, right button scroll to the second to last option. you should see recent captures and capture options i think. go in there to specify the length of capture. you can use that area to start a capture as well, and to view recent captures. let’s say you just did something you want to capture, you hit the xbox button and then hit x. check out the bottom right hand corner of the menu bar that pops up after you hit he xbox button on your controller. maybe someone else can explain it better

I dont know what it is with Toronto, I like the track but I can't get a clean lap. If I do I'll screw up the little whoops section horribly.

If I get a chance tonight I'll try and run some laps at Arlington. It's hard for me playing offline to know what's good lap times or not. I do know the laps I do the ai is pathetic.

Any news on any dlc tracks? With no solid series mode for single player, this game has got super stale for me already. A shame. I like the gameplay but this is purely a p vs p or ghost racing game. Just looking more.

It'll stay stale until they fix the private lobbies showing up in public searches. New tracks may break staleness for 30 minutes but until we get private lobbies to host PvP championships, this game stale AF

Heck, that may fix it for you but I don't even have interest in that.

Maybe next game. But glad some are digging it.

Just do what I do keep asking for braap to be finished and better ai. Supposivley working on it. I just want them to fix it for this game. I do think those are the biggest issues for us offline guys.

I’ve just figured that out myself. I’ve messed with 1st person view before, but seldom used it. I don’t know why but it seems easier in 1st person to hit the big lines with more consistency. This game is so good I still can’t believe guys hate it. I don’t have it mastered for sure though. I can hit all the big lines and all but make a good bit of mistakes also.

I’m pretty sure that’s why some don’t get it. This game requires way more skill at the game to hit good laps. I also like the Milestone games but with Allout it’s much harder to hit consistent good laps. Milestones games really are easier to be consistent on, I think that’s why so many prefer it. I think Allouts difficulty with track breaking down makes it more of a challenge. Once you get the controls figured out, it’s really a great game. I just keep hoping they do something with the ai eventually because they are not good enough, the only part of the game I don’t think they nailed.

Excited for the DLC tracks to freshen it up. I feel sympathy for the company as their patch sits in XBOX limbo. Hands are tied until then

It’s basically a different game in 1st person
Yeah it really is. Hitting the lines clean and keeping a good flow in 1st person is super fun. I get way more into it now.

it’s kinda annoying when rainbow uses the term “really soon” and it ends up being like a month later. for instance like last week they said they were going to release a teaser dlc trailer on their youtube trailer “really soon” lol. they definitely know how to keep us hanging.

glad some of you guys are enjoying the first person view

I kinda thought they’d tell us more by now about dlc. The patch does seem like it’s taking awhile. I hope they do some good dlc looking forward to updated ruts they mentioned.

I’m sure by now most of us have played MXGP Pro. That game is what I’ve been telling Rainbow as far the ai needs to be better . That game should be able to have a decent career since you can actually race them. I think if you can have a solid career mode more guys would do a championship. From what I hear from quite a few players is they don’t play All Outs championship mainly because of how bad the ai is.

Honestly can’t complain to much though we’ve been pretty lucky getting some decent Moto games lately.
