As for who's drank what?

Are you proposing that you'll be at A1 with your Old Guy Syndicate $100 "sign-up fee"?
Found the missing link next to a shredded beef burrito. Can’t beat Tex Mex...

I sold all my Fox gear back in the late 90's when I started seeing it in Pac Sun and the skateboarding kids started wearing it at school when me and one other guy were the only riders at that time. I felt Fox sold out.

Over the last few months I've grown to like their new line and decided to put the past in the past and give them another shot and just bought 2 new kits. Now I feel like I need to put it back up for sale. Why would this ever be a good business decisions??

Bahaha....they are laughing all the way to the bank. Sticking to Moto only would be short sighted.

The supreme deal was a great one and it will prove to be one of the more lucrative decisions they’ve made lately.

That statement is dependent on your target customer.

True. But what is the target customer and who effects the bottom line more. 18-30 y/o is the target demographic for most companies.

This move by fox is far beyond moto. Any company would love to sell out of all of their product in 13 secs.

Yes, but as I was saying above, if you are committed to being core moto, things are much more complicated. Many of the comments in this thread from moto customers are reiterating that. If the goal is to sell something above all else, I am sure this was successful.

My family and I will never wear Fox gear because they haven't been a motorcycle targeted company for a long time. This is just the latest example of it.

This core attitude is what kills a sport and kills a company. Without progression, sports don't grow.

This is good for motorcycling because Fox is taking a risk (a risk they can take because of their size) which might expose more people to their brand which might expose more people to explore riding motorcycles.

I know the I'm-not-racist-but-I hate-the-wheelie-boyz crowd could care less about anyone who isn't white riding bikes but our sport is shrinking...NOT GROWING. (Compare 2007 numbers to 2018 numbers)

Being core means staying small. Staying small doesn't support the jobs of people in the industry and the innovation you guys enjoy in the products you buy.

Besides, our sport isn't as cool as you guys think. Dude has 4.6 million followers. (8x more times than FOX and 4x more than their premier athlete KR94)

Hate to break it to you but OEMs and gear companies are trying to make money...(and appear core), not stay core. Staying core means you ultimately go out of business. haha

Lesson over...

I guess that’s an opinion, anyway. Not sure I share it but that’s ok, too.

And at the gear company I work for, I can 100% guarantee you that we are dedicated to remaining focused on our core customer (not simply appearing to do so).

It's fair to note that Fox's reach is much different than most of other moto related businesses. Their presence in mainstream stores with casual wear changes the game for them.

And just to think, Bob and Geoff were floored over the $350.00 bill for the Fox Head logo back in the early 70’s. Cool

Fox will make more money from this than the little bit of money that it makes from the small demography that we have. it's not selling out, its called marketing and promotion.

What is Fox supposed to cater to what you guys think only?

Its called entering a new market segment and that will bring a broader appeal and spectrum to this sport which we so desperately need. This sport is not doing very well at all and its money is very limited. I dont think a full season of supercross brings in what a months worth of a NFL football season brings in.

A lot of you guys need to stop living under rocks and stop being little babies who think this sport is only for you.

I don't necessarily think they are entering a new market to bring appeal to this sport as you said. I think it's completely separate from moto entirely.

Thinking that this will project will increase moto fanbase is silly to me. Selling their products into a different segment is a different thing than increasing the moto base.

I also think you might be underestimating their moto business. Saying it's a little bit of money is absolutely false. If you want to compare it to the NFL, ok, but that comparison will never be relevant. Moto will never be the NFL regardless of any marketing ever conjured up.

Knowing their goals are much broader than strictly moto, I don't think it's short sighted in that sense. For moto, sure, it might not appeal to the majority. They probably knew that going in, though.

Wonder if we'll see him race with any of it? Personally I don't like it but I think it would be OK if it wasn't plastered with a whole bunch of Supreme logos.

But let’s be honest here JT, you don’t work for solely a “gear company”. WPS distributes Fly, A stars, and a slew of other hard parts/products for the moto, UTV, ATV, Watercraft, and street industries. Correct me if I’m wrong here, but Fox has never gotten into selling Mufflers for Harley’s or life vests for jet skis. So in that sense, Fox has remained more true to it’s “moto core” than WPS has. Simply put, I honestly don’t think this alienates anyone and if anything draws attention to the brand, maybe not so much the sport, but then again, neither do Fly life vests.
