There is a lot of bugs in the game like I can't upload my profile so I have to set everything from scratch when I start the game each time. Online play barely works. (That Hamachi deal worked at one point but it got more annoying with the frequent glitches and other bugs.) Once the game works, man, it's awesome to say the least. I'm interested to see when that MVA 2009 update will be out and see what it does. I hope it improves on many levels and gets more people the ability to play the game.
I just did that with my brother's laptop (Vista equipped) and it works flawless! I noticed something though....both laptops that have the game and work well are Gateways....same graphics cards for both I assume? Now, my bro doesn't have to steal my laptop every time yay!
As far as running MvA on Vista, yes it does work. If you are having problems, right click the game exe and go down to properties. Then click on the compatibility tab and check the box that says Run this program in compatibility mode for: Then choose Windows XP SP2. Also check the box that says Run this program as administrator. That should solve the problems.
man you guys better have terrain wear in it or i'm gonna buy bubba's new game ;-)
Pit Row
Unlike Untamed where it's WFO in the corners and then follow the leader until someone makes a mistake or misses a section (no real bar banging), SX Circuit is all about actual block passing and doing battle.
Sure, the graphics aren't that great compared to these days, but good lord...that was nearly 10 years ago!
Real riders on real bikes racing on the actual tracks from back then. Wow...what a concept!
I'm sure Rainbow will just throw a few new all-terrain vehicles in and call it good.
The MX video game world has definitely taken a bunch of steps back since SX Circuit came out. A few fantasy free ride tracks were cool but now these days, every track is a fantasy track on the new games. It was just so cool to race on a national replica track just because some of those tracks are what I have raced on in real life (Broome-Tioga, Unadilla, etc...). I lost my copy of SX Circuit a few years ago and would love to get my hands on one and relive that game when I get some time. It just annoys the hell out of me with the way technology has came about over the last 10 years that a game made 10 years ago is better than today's games.
BTW, was the racing (in real life) better 10 years ago than it is today?
Thats my favorite part, real tracks. Nice realistic 65ft triples, outdoors with real jumps. No 50 ft wide tracks with 300 ft doubles. Bar banging at its finest.
Oh yeah, and track creator, verrrr nice.
1. The intro video was badass! It had all the pros and everything. Nothing has ever come close to that video.
2. The use of real tracks and riders.
3. The use of "ruts". No other game has ruts like SX Circuit. You slam into those things and you hit the "roost" button and your flyin out of there.
4. The parts actually wear out. Like when you have to buy new tires all the time.
Man, I played this game the most out of all the games I've ever had. If I could only get it to read on the PS2... ohh... and anybody ever play Jeremy McGrath Supercross 98? haha.. that game was ridiculous.
