So when is this Xbox One patch due for release? It's beyond a joke now. Really regretting purchasing this on Xbone rather than PS4.

It's a shame, to me, that Rainbow insists on such wide, overscaled tracks. If the width was more 1 to 1 with reality and the on roller coaster rails berm cornering was changed you would have such an excellent game. But those design choices really knock it down a lot, to me.

My only response to Flatout....

Think about MES. I majority of any video posted by them they land in and on top of the berms. And all out yes you can do the same but the roller coaster value is smooth. I guarantee If you try and learn that scale you land to an inside corner drop to first gear you’ll jump the same rhythm as you would railing outside. 1st gear is vital on all out if you want inside lines to make damn near the same rhythm or if not the same rhythm.

Practice my friend and you’ll see what I’m saying

I dont really like 1:1 scaling. I think MES would have been way better slightly upscaled. Some of the tracks were so flat and boring to me. Im fine with the scaling in All Out they make for good racing.

In my opinion the scale is great. It's about 5 bikes wide on most sx tracks. Any smaller and the game would be no fun.

I agree with All that’s been said.

Flatout needs to learn what gaming and physics really mean. Said it once say it again any MES video on YouTube they jump halfway into a corner. Doesn’t look clean or help with physics. All out yes is little open open on scale but it’s actually very on par. Try taking a into a 5 lap race to the inside corner with manual transmission and hit 1st to 2nd gear with the awesome terrain deformation “ruts” and you’ll still hit the same rhythm without so called railing the outsides

I respect flatout ‘s opinion although I completely disagree. The scaling is perfectly on point IMO with regards to the jump length/steepness/etc. The width is too wide by authentic SX standards but I’m fine with that because it gives you more discretion to hit different rhythms. Yes the National tracks are boring and way too wide but the SX tracks are a work of art IMO.

I can easily overlook “authenticity” when it comes to replica track layouts and teams/bikes/opponents/whatever as long as the gameplay is good. IMO MES has little redeeming value beyond the fact that the graphics are clearly better than All Out. Many people who have purchased the game say the same thing: zero replayability. You finish the series and there’s nothing left to do. Online play is spotty at best. MXvATV is pretty rough on XBox but once the patches come out I think it will be much better.

To each their own, absolutely. But I think that this game is far superior to MES and many will never agree and that’s fine. MES came out first so many are used to the feel of that game whereas All Out is on the other side of the spectrum in nearly all respects, which I prefer.

I agree.

The tracks are hard to stay on at pacras ir is. Carry pace through a bend. Hit a jump with even a tiny bit of angle and you're off the track. It's not forgiving of mistakes ghis game. Timing a bit off. Angle leaving a jump a bit off etc. And you're seriously punishedtime wise.

I always felt MES was really forgiving of mistakes and you could screwup without it hurting much. All Out feels much more rewarding when you nail bends and time rhythm sections.

I'm on PS4 and have been having a lot of issues trying to play online. Trying to figure out if the problems are on my end or the game..

I get kicked out constantly. I can't even count how many times I have entered a lobby just to sit through an entire race as a spectator and then get booted back to the main screen before ever getting to race. If I do get through to an actual race, 9 times out of 10 I get kicked after the first one. I have had maybe 5 times out of probably 50 or more attempts that I have actually got to race more than 1 event consecutively. And even then, I get 2 or 3 TOPS before my screen freezes up and I lose connection again. When it works, it's awesome, but its few are far between for me. Can someone chime in if they have experienced the same? Or has someone had better luck online w/ ps4?

Im glad you guys dig the wide tracks. To me, it takes away one of the most important aspects of Supercross and that is that tight atmosphere. Also, All Out has fewer riders on the gate if you're talking AI. Fewer riders, wider tracks make it too open. Just my opinion.

You're talking someone who loved Alive's scale and some did not. I can tweak the camera angle to somewhat help the width problem, perspective wise. MES also has it's shortcomings. The track width is right but they missed it to s degree on scale of jumps. So both have their flaws.

I'll try squaring up corners more but the way the game's turning is, well it feels super arcade. It feels like, well like I said, you're on a roller coaster on rails. It's almost like you speed up as your going around the roller coaster bend whlch just doesn't feel right. To me, at least.

YellowS2K said the same thing on his YouTube review. Im surprised people like it like that. Then again, people like Unleashed and that feeling is straight out of Unleashed. But every game has it's flaws. So this happens to be one that bugs me.

I am very thankful they slowed the game down. I haven't upgraded engine because honestly I don't want the game any faster.

The bike is a bit too light in air. You shouldn't be able to throw it around that easily. But with practice it feels pretty good.

Im not against the game. Quite the opposite. It's much better than Encore. Just praying for more accurate replica outdoor tracks because these MX tracks are boring. And since Rainbow only offers one game, well I just am hoping for some replica outdoor dlc stuff.

As far as MES replayability, well I've done several different championship seasons as my favorite riders. Not bored yet. But you're talking to the guy who played EA Supercross 2000 for years so maybe im just a rare breed.
Lol. Plus you have track editor.

Sure, it's just sx but that's where GP Pro will come in with mx. I, personally, like concentration to one thing and not trying to please everyone with one game.

But then again, im different. Freeridng is a bore to me as is freestyle. I don't like waypoint or opencrosss. My main interest is SX, MX and I also would like Endurocross or Super Enduro. Or some slower, tighter Enduro riding.

Anyway, enjoying game but hate having to be forced to play thru all this stuff I don't care for. Glad people are enjoying both games though for the most part.
That's good for MX gaming.

I experience this sometimes. A lot of it might be a crappy connection from the host or the host just quitting. I have really good internet at my house, and a few nights ago I was hosting races until 2 in the morning with pretty full gates. Nobody was getting kicked and there wasn't any weird glitches going on. Every now and then I find a good lobby that I stay on for a while without issues.

I trashed this game when it came out but i have to take it back. I am still not gunna say its great because the graphics are ps3 at best and the national tracks might as well not be there.

I was playing MES a lot when this game came out which i didnt think would matter because i used to go back and forth between MXGP3 and encore all the time with no issues. Anyways, i quit playing this and MES because far cry came out. Last night while overwatch was downloading an update i reluctantly turned it on thinking to myself youre gunna regret this.

I must say, aside from the graphics and nationals being a complete waste of time it was a lot of fun. I actually gave these guys another $3 and bought the ktm, which to my surprise again actually looked really cool. So again, i apologize. Both games have good aspects and some bad ones.

I do say, though, that the skill gap is greater in All Out than MES. So that is a positive. Both games offer a lot. I have my preference, for sure, but nice to have some variety and good to have solid choices for our sport.

The supercross tracks definitely are not too wide.

I guess I don't know what your experience is like on XBox but this game is completely playable for me on the Box. There are some framerate issues still in the Nationals but SX plays smooth as butter, even with a full gate of AI. Online is still tough but I'm willing to wait. The few games I have played online I've won by 20 seconds or more in a three lap race so I think a lot of people still need practice Tongue

if you're not already, try first person mode on All-Out.

it has the same redeeming qualities of MES. just like MES it completely changes the perspective of the game. i'm about a second off my fastest times, but it feels better and it seems easier to stay within the tuff-blocks.

my biggest problem with MES was the tracks are too tight. you can't ride two guys wide without one of you going off the track. i get that the scale may be closer, but i feel like that is one thing that hinders the game.

both games are great. i do feel like if AllOut came out first then the tune would be totally different. i haven't touched MES since AllOut came out and i have no desire to. i'll probably end up deleting it from my storage. it's not that it's a bad game, but it just has zero replay-ability for me.

switching gears, what is everyone running on the Echo Valley SX track? that's the tutorial track in the main free zone. last night i threw down a 25.9 in first person and felt like i was just cruising along, but i was actually flying. i switched to the chase cam and could only get to a mid 26.

Flatout, what you seem to not comprehend is that a video games lifespan is completely dependent on the online play these days. Wider tracks are absolutely necessary to get a bunch of goons together in online racing. You tighten them up and the experience is just hindered, it becomes a squeezed tight bumperfest. The wider tracks and overscaling allow more room to breathe and avoid that carnage, actually creating more realistic racing in return - ironic how that works huh.

I guess I should have mentioned the first-person thing. It completely changes the game. I can't even make it around a track in chase cam anymore. The feel of the game actually feels real in POV mode, and IMO this is the first MVA game that has a usable first-person cam.

I would recommend it to anyone. It doesn't take that long to learn and will completely change your appreciation of this game.

Looking at that last video posted the track looks way to wide for me too.

I mean, how hard is it to duplicate the exact scale of a real SX environment.? The editor in MES is very close. It is in fact a bit too narrow. It needs to be about 9-13% wider. Not talking about the stock tracks that come with the game. But the editor track width.

The problem has always started with the power of the bikes. They then end up building these huge tracks to accommodate them. So they are always trying to tame the bike.

Which video? The one at the practice track? That SX track is way wider than most of the actual SX tracks. If you haven't even played the game you can't really comment on scale of tracks or power of the bikes. If MES is what you like then fine. I've played both quite a bit and All Out is far far better in all areas but graphics in my opinion.

I Um... with my experience in Dirt Bike videos games I think I can comment on a video that shows the width. LoL. It's only my opinion though. Doesn't really matter. I am referring to the video posted within this thread of a dude jumping like 5/4/5. Great video for sure.

This looks too wide. (See rider) That is 40 feet wide.

SPODE the ghost rider in that video makes the track look way wider than it actually is. I guarantee it's not as wide as that image makes it look.

And yes, I know who you are and your history with the MX gaming community. All I'm saying is that until you've actually invested the time to learn this game, you have to take all these negative comments with a grain of salt.

Spode,

Rainbow purposely makes their tracks wider to accommodate ATV's. They have always done this with their MX vs ATV series games.

there are quite a few sx tracks where the track isn’t actually that wide at all. remember, this is an arcade game so the wide tracks allow for good racing with 16 people online.

with that being said, i’ve been clicking on custom matches online and getting a list of available races and have had the best experience racing online with up to 16 people. and this is without the xbox update. if you’re having trouble getting online on xbox, make sure you’re clicking on the second option once you click “online”. it’s custom match or somethig like that. when i chose the first option, it doesn’t work for me. i’ve played up to 8-10 races in a row and haven’t been kicked. without the update the online racing is already better then my online mes racing experience.
