Still not sure whether to take the plunge or not. Have enjoyed MES (61 hrs), so got my money's worth there, but am bored with it now...

It's a plunge that's for sure. At first, you will hate it and force yourself to keep playing it while staring at the MES box like a pack of smokes after quitting. It's so much more rewarding and fun than MES when you finally get a feel for the controls. They are very sensitive and limitless. Some complain the whips are just barrel rolls, but that's how free the controls are. You can do pretty much anything and with some technique, make it look pretty damn good. Timing is VERY crucial. There's not much room for error. If you clip the back wheel or over jump a little you probably wont make the intended line you want even with full preload. There's no in air corrections like previous mx games. You need to hit jumps straight. I struggled with this the most because I was so used to going off jumps a little sideways to make up for a big whip moving me to the left or right in the air. As for the AI, I can't really speak on it. I only got up to medium when I first started playing to get coins for upgrades. Then I started racing online. I don't think you will get bored with this game.

i'm absolutely loving this game. i put in some serious time yesterday both in single player and online. i had a couple online issues which i saw others having above, but overall the online experience is night and day better than MES. you can actually battle close back and forth without worrying about some joker punting you off the track. supercross is VERY technical and you really have to use proper timing, not just hold it wide and preload everything. anyone saying that you don't have to hit the brakes to be fast hasn't been playing long enough or is just hating.

national tracks are meh, but some of the later nats are super fun and flowy. i've found myself hardly ever using the preload and feel like i can carry better momentum through stuff just using the right stick.

one thing that i'm still not crazy about is if you lose your drive in the whoops you hop around all weird like on a pogo-stick and it can be impossible to get your momentum back.

also, i've found the less input you put into the controller the better. small fine movements rather than large brash quick movements. i got passed by a guy last night online that was scrubbing so nasty over the bigger jumps. i'm not there yet, not even close, but it's proof that it will take time to learn.

one thing i like about this game over Reflex is it actually takes time to learn, the learning curve is very steep and at first the controls feel really wonky. but after putting in some good time, this is no doubt my favorite mx game. the technique is much deeper than it appears on the surface.

and the tuning, (they did a poor job with descriptions here) is very deep. i spent a couple hours yesterday tuning and finding a setup that i liked. my suspension is way soft because it feels like it hooks up on the ground better. at first i had my tire traction way down, but now i'm getting more used to the game it is gradually going up to where i'm almost back at the mid-point on the sliders.

anyway, sorry for the long winded all over the place post, but i'm fuckin' loving the game. i also bought a Husky 450 and can't see it anywhere in the game. hopefully it shows up.
I'm really enjoying the bike setup process as well.. I've noticed setup differ with tracks which is pretty cool. I'm at 26 hour mark and still learning and refining my riding. Starting to get my own style to show through on screen is so rad. I was critical of many aspects of this game when it came out but damn its enjoyable now.

Glad to see people coming around on the game. It's clunky and awkward at first, but once you get a flow going in SX the game really shines. Those tracks are works of art IMO

We should have a vital race night like once a week at a certain time and do a 15 or 20 lapper supercross.

Yeah same for me. When MES first was released the ai was way to easy on realistic it has been since updated and not perfect but way better. I hope they make the ai on all time difficulty more of a challenge on All Out through a patch in the future. They could maybe a little faster and defiantly more consistent i think now their pretty busy working on bugs in game and frame rate still. I usually give the ai a head start to make it more of a challenge

This game is great. It seems like garbage at first but after you put some time in, it's simply awesome. If you're on the fence, buy it. I'll probably never play MES again.

The game is sick. Hated it at first and now I'm loving it after I figured out the physics. I spent a good 6 hours the other night just free riding marble canyon and stayed up way too late, haven't done that since I was a kid

I agree. And not because MES is bad. I just never finished the game. I got bored with it.

This game is so engaging. And the possibilities are endless as far as what you can do with the bike.

Hey all. We're aware of that bug with your DLC bikes not showing up when you are not connected to the great interweb. It's going to be fixed in 1.05 since 1.04 has either been released or in submission right now. Appreciate your patience and any other updates will get posted up on the social media channels.

resetting my console fixed it and they show up.

any idea when you will be fixing the online servers? getting into and staying in a session without being dropped back into single player compound is hit and miss.

Didn't work for me mine still won't show up. People complain a lot about the Rainbow crew and I don't get it . I think they delivered a great game and continue to make it better I can't wait for some dlc tracks. I prefer All Out to MES but I don't think MES is a bad game but I know I'll spend more time with All Out.

And once every couple hours I'll get stuck in some weird camera view from the start of the race and can't switch. You're with the bike, but it starts as a chest view and won't rotate with the rider.

It's good there are patches but the xbox community has been waiting 2 weeks just for 1.03. Ugh. Xbox multiplayer is very buggy in all aspects - searching custom games takes forever, leaderboards don't show me anyone else but my time, game crashes during races, connections fail and lock out multiplayer completely on retries, "quick" connections to selected supercross games puts me in any mode at random be it mx, free ride, etc - not specifically sx as I selected.

PS: Rename "aggressive" ai to "takeout" ai - ugh...ridiculous how they immediately steer right into me and go for the clean out during a STRAIGHT lane as Im passing them. Then setup another ai as "aggressive" that will go straight up the apex of corners to block me and will maybe SLOWLY squeeze me out on straightaways, but come on this is the same ai we had from the xbox 360 version of supercross 4 yrs ago.

EDIT: I don't want to sound all negative, because to be fair, like others I played MES and the gameplay in that game got so boring I deleted the digital version. MVA All Out gameplay, especially supercross gameplay is more satisfying with real terrain deformation unlike the fake stuff in Mes, and the air physics is more challenging how you cannot turn in the air, and the tracks don't feel super wide. Once I got on the 450 with the heavier feel and tuning has helped.

Im on xbox and I still cant find the screen i have seen other people say they can change traction etcetc

Also, the game is terribly blurry and im not a fan of the crazy bog the bike gets in automatic lol. I cant even find the screen to change it to manual.

Ive been doin a couple career matches to dip my feet into playing. I jumped right into the 2nd hardest mode because im pretty good at MX vs ATV supercross:encore (which right now I am liking far better than All Out)

Ive played MX vs ATV franchise since my original first gen xbox and as of right now this looks like a step backwards a little bit. Im sure these bug fixes might sort it better. Also the dudes torso on the bike looks unreal like benny bloss+15lbs

Also i ordered through wantboard/amazon and my disc came with no game instructions/manual in the inside cover of the game box like most do.

You have to get into the actual 250 Nationals series before you get gates. The early series are there to help you learn the game but they aren’t worth much beyond that

Also, give the game some time to grow on you. It takes most people a while to get a hang of the game but once you do, you’ll probably find it’s the best one made to date. I played Reflex last night and it’s not as good as All Out IMO

Those early series are like novice style races. The “pro” series have the gates later on.

For tuniing you hit your menu button, hit left bumper to get to garage, move left stick down one to highlight tuning, press a. Your current bike will have different parts to tune based on what parts you purchase at the in game dealership. So anyways tires are first thing listed and highlighted and you can move left stick to change where on the scale the marker you want each part set to. Move tire marker left for less grip or right for more.

I crash my face off twice throwing some whips here but then I get into a goove. Freeride is the best way to learn the ins and outs of the game. I'm loving the whip system now, I think this game just knocked relex off the top of my favorite moto game list. Last night I think an hour went by just tossing whips and exploring the free ride worlds.

Now we just need that update for the xbox!

I agree on fixing the online. I love this game but I'm tired of getting to race once in 10 tries after getting booted so many times. So much time wasted joining a race, waiting for it to finish, loading next track, then being booted after a lap. Also random track rotations in the auto created matches are needed badly. With so many online issues, you really only race the first three tracks in the rotation online and there are so many good tracks neglected.

Wow, when I first played All out I was like meh, its good but very different. About 1 hour in I liked it more and more, and now I love it. I feel like they taken a huge step into the right direction and when they fix the bugs/frame rate issues it will be superb. Not played MES alot and not saying its bad, but I really like All out and mx series better because of the variation and of course the free physics. Saw someone posting about the haters that don't play it enough to get the feeling of it, and I totally agree. The society now = If somethings "bad", lets just rush to the Internet and post hate comments..

If anyone is interested, head over to Metacritics site and rate All out so not all the haters controll the user score lol

And yet when I want to sit down and play an MX game, I fire up All Out in Time Trail SX mode or Freeride open environment and have some fun. Can't beat a fully modded 450 in All Out on the open world with multiple National tracks, dunes, hills etc all available to hop around on. It's the most fun moto game hands down. And I'm still on Xbox patch 1.02 with all the glitches and weird sounds. I have Reflex, Encore, MXGP3, MES & All Out on my Xbox One S and All Out is still the best overall. Now, it could still be way better, but hopefully the new patches and dlc help that some.
