Yeah but at 17-18 you have to decide if youre a badass and can back it up or your gonna get your ass beat.

He can say a lot more by blowing by cleanly and not making a mistake while leading than be can by complaining after practice, heats and races. Tomac doesnt wave his hands or point at anyone, he either blows by you or takes you out. Peick will beat you down, Bowers will punt you.

AF is a tweaner, he should just shut up and ride better and look inside for blame.

It didnt matter anyways because Zacho was going to Savatgy him on the last lap anyways! We all got robbed of that!

I think you should rematch the video. He got a flag for Peters but not a single one between then and the incident. Hell before Peters passed him he still wasnt being flagged by half of them. The flaggers didn't do a good job tonight.
You were watching the same race as me then, he gets the flag for Smith and lets him go , and then Peters a lap later, but passes 2 guys with blue flags not waving , one in the turn where Forkner bailed in heat , and it looked like he even looked at the flagger as he went past . Poor marshalling... getting a blue flag once does not mean you have to let everyone by for the rest of the race.

Like PhilG said, doesn’t look like this flagger gave him the blue flag. The next flagger was next to the whoops, he was standing a few whoops in (I don’t think anyone would be paying attention to a flagger when entering whoops?!) waving the blue to some riders ahead of Alves and Forkner.

Those pics don't lie. The first flagger didn't give him the blue flag. The second flagger is standing 4 whoops in. I don't believe Alves could have safely "moved" out of the way for Forkner in the middle of whoops. You hold your line through whoops, rythem sections etc. If Alves had moved in the middle of the whoops unsafely everyone here would be complaining about that as well.

Maybe if Forkner hadn't choked he would not have had to worry about Alves and I agree he was acting like a child. Where was he when Zack wanted a word for cross jumping......oh yeah hiding behing his mechanic.

Wrong, Forkner was already heading towards the podium. Some of you fools are really short in the mental department. Try thinking just a hair further and seeing the bigger picture. Austin may be upset with himself for his mistake... I say fine. Your doing damn good this early in your career. If you want, take solace in the fact that the guy your battling with was on Factory KTM when you were still on the tit.
I do not disagree he was headed for a podium probably second to be specific. I am not a fan of Zack or Forkner nor do I dislike either, I am just a fan of the sport, my favorite rider retired in the early 2000s. This does not change the fact Zack was clearly faster, he has been all year and Forkner choked trying to stay ahead. I do not fault him at all for this as I wish I had back any one of the tens of the times I have choked from pressure. When he passed Zack right at the beginning Zach did not go nuts trying to pass him back immediately he sat back and picked his spot. I think this comes with experience and Forkner will improve as he has the god given gift of speed. Everyone has made a huge deal of Zack vs Forkner and he knows this so I am sure that was a huge part of him pushing to hard to stay ahead. Zack was even asked about it he didn’t seem to give 2 shits but I suspect he was not truthful. I will cut Fork some slack for acting as he did because of his age as this will probably improve with time and experience as well.

Forkner put himself in a bad position. His fault. Ralph was right, he was probably more upset with himself. He should have passed in a safer spot on the track.

Flaggers sucked! Fire them.

Alves at fault, ban him one SX.
Alves mechanic did nothing wrong, just stood between his rider and Forkner.

Reed (last yr STL), should have been banned 3 SX races.

Rulebook says hold your line. That being said, I don't believe the guy who is on the LEAD LAP should have to work to get around the lapper.

Looked like the mechanic would of had no problem dropping Austin Timberlake if he needed though

Mechanic could clearly work Forkner over in a fight, but something tells me he will be earning his pay next race fixing that bike..

Forkner going to Osborne Alves next race.

I watched the replay over and over and I never see Alves get a blue flag for Forkner. It looks like he let Peters by when he received the blue flag in that section and never meant to hold up Forkner, just wasn't getting the flag. I don't believe Alves is at fault and it was up to Forkner to get around him. Not a Forkner hater by any means. Just calling it like I saw it.

Notice he approached Alves with caution, keeping a safe distance. He didn't want no smoke!

so you've never told someone they were a fucking idiot without wanting to box? i do it all the time. sometimes telling someone they fucked up is more damaging than walking up and smacking them.

I'm sure a lot of these guys (maybe not all) have also learned from the Peick/Freise and Anderson/Freise incident that physical contact will cost you dearly in penalties. Mouth off all you want but don't get hands on

Seems to me every time he got a flag someone went past so there is a very good chance he might have thought that was for position.

Either way, I think sometimes there has gotta be a bit more onus on the leader or rider coming through to get passed. I'd much rather race past someone who is riding consistently going forward than try pass someone swerving all over and freaking out to get out the way.

FYI - Alves finished 4th in 250A at Lorettas last year with a 3-8-4 score and he is in his rookie year and qualified for his 1st main event in Daytona Last week where he finished 9th and was only 6 places behind Forkner. He has the speed.

In St Louis before this crash Alves had raced up from 21st to 14th and was dicing with 570 who was in 15th. A blue flag means hold your line and Alves backed off a little and held his line through the woops but Forkner did not go fast enough to pass him. The rider Up front always takes the line he wants.

I have noticed Forkner has a habit of trying to push people around and take them out. How did Forkner pass 5th place 114 Hatraft after taking Alves out? Forkner could have taken Hatraft out too.

Should we bring up the guy Alves took out in Daytona?

Did anyone else notice when Forkner went for the pass on Hartranft for 5th place, that he actually swerved towards Hartranft?

That was what... his 2nd or 3rd main event ever for Alves? Cut the kid a break. He even looked like he tried to apologize after and Forkner was being a little bratty bitch when he threw away that race all by himself in the first crash. And then he made himself look like a toddler throwing a tantrum after the race. Total lack of maturity and professionalism. He needs to grow up.

Listen to 4:30-4:42.

Osbourne is as dirty as they come but I feel the kid is gonna be dirty back at some point. The bonus money these guys risk for retaliation is insane. (same thing going after a mechanic/rider)

As for Alves, its one thing holding your line but, in the corner you go high and carry speed around, He clearly cut down when he had no business doing so.

That’s the shitty thing. We see it all the time. Blue flag waves. Rider in 10th or whatever moves over for the leader. Rider in 11th follows right behind the leader and also passes. And I’m sure several other times that we don’t see, that 10th place guy gets the blue flag and lets that 11th place guy by assuming he’s part of the lead pack. It doesn’t seem like much to us, but to them it is. And it should be.
