Yep. 95% rider 5% bike. Unless that bike is a hunk a poo. That’s why Yamaha has struggled since the 2010 - flawed chassis. At the pro level that 5% might as well be 100%. For the rest of us spodes doesn’t matter much. Never understood brand loyalty. Not sure I would want a bike that finished last in the shootouts unless I found a great deal, did a couple mods, and took advantage of contingency. If you can’t corner worth a shit, buy an RMZ! Loved my 2011 except the rigid chassis and headshake. What’s sad is they had all that time to do a complete overhaul and they did a partial. The company is hurting. They don’t make anything else like the other Japanese. Hollow support. Always fast guys riding Yellow because it’s good enough to win on and they pay for racing with contingency.
If you think they’re hurting you should probably look up the financials then look up the financials of Yamaha kawie and ktm and tell us again who is hurting

Here's my take on a Suzuki. The gearbox is clunky and clutch weak. I have a 14 coming off a 15 yz450f. However next full motor rebuild I'm sending the transmission out for treatment. I have a hinson in it. However the bike tracks well not super powerful easy to ride. Im having fun again on track riding.

Maybe as far as the motor goes.

But having your suspension done makes a huge difference. Even for amateurs. Makes the bike much more controllable.

And if you've never had your's done, then you really don't know wtf you're talking about.

Motorcycle division made a profit for the first time in 11 years in 2016...so that’s a plus.

Reading comprehension isn’t your strength but we all know pa school system isn’t the strongest. He said the company isn’t doing well the company dwarfs your precious ktm. As a matter of fact the company makes more than yammie, kawie and ktm combined. So with that said Suzuki the company is doing very well.

Bro, needni explain again. I’m a Kawasaki guy, KTM just happens to build a bike that currently fits me better. I guess you are on Suzuki’s payroll eh? Or are you emotionally involved in a company that couldn’t care less about your existence.

You are from NJ bro, nothing else needs to be said hahahah.

Suzuki Corp has a lot of debt. Just doesn’t seem like Suzuki is knocking it out of the park with giving up on the US auto market and a bringing a half updated dirtbike after 10 years...kinda weak. I don’t care about “winning Vital”...I’m out of my depth looking at financials as an expert, but I can google and - (minus) 24.64 Billion in cash seems bad. Year over year not as profitable as Yamaha or Honda, but better than Kaw and KTM. Looks like they’re on the comeback trail. Maybe one of our Vital experts can point some facts out?
Edit: The KTM financials are a quarter older than others, but dang! Look at the earnings per share (EPS) 3,260%

I find it funny, the comments about how slow the RMZ450 is. I had to look up the dyno comparison for 2018

Up to 9000 rpm there isn't an earth shattering difference, the worst and best are separated by about 3HP. And the slowest bike of the bunch still makes 55HP.

Thanks Manny for the reply. Post what your findings are after , if you don't mind? I have a feeling , she'll be one sweet riding machine. I myself have ridden a few of the newer 450's and 350's , and still to this day , I remember riding a bone stock 2012 RMZ 450.....and it was freakin' nice! It did not feel heavy when riding it , had very usable power and it turned better than any big bike I have ridden to date. On big 4 strokes....I bled green , but I would not of minded at all , to own a Suzi!

The vast majority of amateur riders don't even know how to set a bike up. So even if you get your suspension sorted, if you don't know what changes to make for differing or deteriarating conditions you're not really going to feel the benefit of the expense paid. Some riders may feel the difference but let's face it some will claim it's better just because of the money spent.

There is a lot of bullshit involved in modifications for the ordinary lads IMO.

Painting with a pretty broad brush. I would argue a majority could tell the difference. Bikes are set up from the factory for certain rider weights. If you're not in the range they'll beat you to death. No adjusting will help that.

I know. I weigh 155 and ride a 16 KX 450. Stock it was way too stiff and I couldn't get the sag even close. Like every bike I buy I have to go to a lighter spring. Plus the forks were shit. Thanks to Factory Connection, I love riding it now.

Any rider with even moderate skills could tell the difference when the suspension is set up specifically for them.

Anyway, how do you know so much about suspension mods since you've never had it done?

Bro, since when do profits from other endeavors create a better motorcycle? People ride what they want to ride. Suzuki, out of the box, makes an “inferior” motorcycle compared to their competition. I put inferior in quotes because it is still a good bike, just a tick off what the competition offers.

About "Inferior Motorcycles" and other presumptions...

Might I suggest many of you reserve judgement on what is assumed to be superior or inferior until AFTER you've put 50-60 hours on it and have learned...

1. What you'll have to REPLACE & REPAIR...and what that costs in the real world.
2. What amazing differences a flat-blade screwdriver, ride height and preload adjustments can make.
3. How much effort some bikes DO or DON'T take to get around various kinds of tracks.

But, hey, that's just me.
