Why, why, why would anyone ride from 10 feet behind the bike? That is the opposite of realistic. Someone please tell me why. 1st person perspective should be the only option.

Maybe because it's one of the camera options available and he prefers it. Not everyone likes to play in the 1st person view. Some people struggle with it and have more difficulty judging the obstacles.

To each their own. Seriously, what difference does it make if he plays in the 3rd person view or not?

The good news is that you'll be able to play it the way you want and everyone else will be able to play it their way.

I agree everyone has an opinion. Just don't complain about realism if your playing from 10ft behind the bike lol.

The AI is really bad. In my video, that was only my second race, and as you can see, i am 1st with many crashes/mistakes and I am on Realistic.

Can confirm that there's no Pro mode. (at the moment)

PS : I raced in 3d person in MX Sim so.. haha

Their A.I. has historically been pretty shit. I mean, look at the people they have playing the game in their office! But, they usually come out with a patch not too long after release that makes the A.I. a bit faster. They are still horrendously slow, but they're slightly less slow. The real competition, like all Milestone games, will be online.

Just a side note in regards to MX vs Atv and replica nationals. I promise you with the mx vs atv physics replica nats would be trash, there is not enough going on. Think of a track like Budds, you can count the jumps on one hand. So really you would need physics more like milestones to make it work. Everyone is full of ideas but a lot of times all those things don't mesh together.

This is the Milestone MES thread. If you want your opinions to be heard about how bad MvA is, the intelligent move would be to post things like this in the MvA thread. You seem lost. Blink
Apparently you didn't read all the post in this topic about that same subject that I was just replying to.

Yeah but, as someone said, there's a problem for the carreer in the game. I mean, it's gonna be so boring for those who wants to do the same race format of 20 laps...

No I've seen the game play, it isn't revolutionary from any of the mx vs atv physics that came before it. Ive been playing Moto games all the way back to mcm2 days and created plenty of tracks for it, sometimes it's not that simple to get a track to match the physics or vise versa. By the time you adjusted the track to match mx vs atv physics it wouldn't be an accurate replica anymore.

Yeah, to be fair it's been the problem with pretty much all MX games ever made. I don't know why they can't seem to get it through their heads that however fast they have the AI set, that it's probably still nowhere near good enough and that they need to wind it up more than a few clicks. Play a Codemasters F1 game on the hardest difficulty and watch the AI disappear...

I reinstalled MXGP 3 this morning and only a few of the tracks provide any sort of significant challenge from the AI - everywhere else (say 70% of the tracks) you can barge through like a bumper car from last and pull away within a lap or two... And of course this is all post the "AI improved" patch. Multiplayer is fun but sometimes you just want to do your own thing.

You guys who want to see more changes should be posting on Milestones Facebook page. Send them messages to read this vital thread so they can see your complaints. Bitching here then sitting back and waiting for release?? What’s the point of saying something at all. ?

You can definitely see the difference in the physics. I think it looks great. It has a ton of potential as is and I think will play very well once it's learned. Looks like the cornering and the way the rear end slides out while exiting corners if you accelerate too much and I think the bike has a good bit of movement under the bike. It looks like you cut a corner sharp if you need to and a big difference I see is the ability to pitch the bike forward in the air. I hope hitting the rear break does it and not just pushing forward. I think I read you or someone say you couldn't really lean back? It looked like the rider leaned back quite a bit a few times especially in the whoops. This is definitely the most promising gameplay I have seen. And just like all other game plays I see, once I get the game, I'm gonna make it look reealllll good Wink lol

There's no doubt people are going to be able to play this game and make it look very realistic
In relation to the way a dirt bike races on a super cross track in real life. Oh and first person view is gonna be even better

Totally. I think the game looks great. Again, this is Milestone's first ever Supercross game. In my opinion, they are doing way better than the competition who has been at this forever.

When the game is in a somewhat good rider's hands, the game looks really good. That's all I need to know.

I'm not so worried about playing against the AI thru championship mode. I try to ride completely realistic. That, in a lot of cases, means not being that fast. I have even, in the past, given an 8 second runoff if I go down to allow ample time for a crash and remount. I never kill the AI. Maybe Im just not that good but again, I ride realistically. Manual shifting, separate braking and realistic riding.

I cannot wait to get it in just a few days. Super stoked. Sure, there are things that can be better but there is also a TON of things that are great. I am glad we have a licensed Supercross game again. It looks awesome and I know as they progress in the game series that it will get even better.

Seems like they would release clips that show actual play that they could play the fucking game. Pretty sure that I would be better than this dude within 5 minutes.

I also have every setting set to as hard as possible and I don't consider myself to be an exceptional player/gamer, however I shall try your 8 second trick as I can see that making things a lot harder. Be nice if there were an option like that officially installed, Iv'e always thought (and have previously mentioned to the devs on Steam) that instantly recovering from a crash is like having God mode etc enabled.

Allowing 8 seconds before starting again after going down can really make a difference. Again, sometimes you have to play realistically even if the game isn't made perfect. That's on us. Also, of course, zero rewind. Never. Even if it sucks. Eli couldn't rewind at A1. We shouldn't be able to, either.

If you're playing online I get it's win at all costs. In championship or career just make sure you ride realistically. It makes a big difference.

I just took a look at the video and customising bikes in this game will be a lot of fun. The combinations of things you can change are practically endless. I mean you can even select the color of the spoke nipples.

It looks like we'll be able to save multiple different styles for each bike. This I like simply because you won't have to redo your bike of choice everytime you want to change it up.

I hope the in game options have the custom camera that was in MXGP 1 and 2. It allowed you to zoom in or out. It was absent from 3 and I thought all the cameras were too distant. I'm not a huge fan of first person but I like 3rd person cam zoomed in all the way.

Really hope MES has it or some other camera options that are not so far away. Default camera seems better than what was in MXGP3. Even the closest one in 3 felt too far away. To me, that is.

I do the same and if I wad it really bad I will straight up skip the rest of the race and lose out on all the points which keeps the championship closer...all this work to keep the game playable. It would be nice if they could just make that AI challenging haha

I've yet to find a MX game with super smart A1. At least Milestone's games are somewhat intelligent. The MVA games are super reckless and drive down track backwards at times.

Its not about being unrealistically fast but being smart and programming good lines. Milestone is one of the better at that but still have their issues.

I had this MX game back when I bought my first PC ( old 286) and if you were playing for the championship and crashed really hard you could end up with a broken arm,leg or something else. Game would force you out of the few rounds and your championship was over.

Fun game back in the day..

That's awesome. And something that should be implemented in this series.
