This message has been floating around the internet for the past couple of days.
A single renter living a mobile home near the track has raised a fuss about the track, the dust and the noise. He has been harassing the MX track management with calls to the police, fire department and Perris City Council.
The Perris City Council will be addressing these complaints at a meeting this Wednesday, March 4.
The track needs your support.
If at all possible, please come to this meeting at or before 6 PM.
City of Perris

Phone: (951) 943-6100
You do not have to be a resident of Perris to support the track.
If you have or work at a local shop, let the employees know. Let the customers know. Another track lost hurts everyone, from the dealer selling a new motorcycle, to the local mexican restaurant, to the convenience store selling ice & sodas.
Ok I just got off the phone with Jeff Norstrom from Perris Raceway
The official press release will be out tomorrow.
Wednesday night is the planning commission meeting. It seems some City paperwork from 41 years ago is missing. This is the paperwork that allowed Perris to be open on racing nights until 11pm. The track needs hundreds of people to show up and support the track. The City of Perris is very OK at this point with the track, please do not bash them at this time. They are going through there legal proceedings to set things straight. What the track needs most is people to come support the track at this meeting, from all areas of the state and out of state if possible. The City chambers holds about 150 people and we need to flood that and any available area that they have available to show our support for the track.
The next important meeting will be on the 10th for the City Council meeting. Again EVERYONE is urged to come and attend the meeting as well as speak and state the importance of the track, the distance you travel to be there, the money you spend in the local economy etc. As it is now, the City does not want to close down the track, just resolve what ever permit issues that might be outstanding.
Please do not attack the City, they are working through a process, yes, red tape, but it is felt they do not want the track to close down.
It seems the complainant has recently moved back on to "family" property close to the track and is the one making the fuss. Again, PLEASE do not attack the City of Perris. They understand the importance of the track and the impact on the local economy. Please attend these meetings. Let's not let one voice ruin the voice's of thousands. All of the other neighbors around Perris Raceway are not part of this. The racetrack has had ZERO citations for Code violations.
As I get the Official Press release tomorrow I will post it. PLEASE plan on coming, even if you think there will be enough there without you. I know it is a burden on a lot of us, but the future of Perris Raceway depends on our support.
sorry for bad spelling and grammar, i was doing this in a rush to get the info out there when it was fresh in my mind.

The cops were called at least once by this single trailer park trash neighbor. He was flipping off one of the track workers and starting trouble. The cops that came mostly just hung around and watched, proved they came but sided with the track.
I can't imagine Perris being shut down because of this but if nobody in the area does their part, it just might.
There are some legitmate complaints and illegitimate accusations on the facts of the alleged opposing party. by Internet posters. That doesn't help.
Come on folks? Jonny get your guns, ain't going to get it done when non-experts are elected into the city decision making process.
Few have taken the time to gather the facts, and would rather post their "opinion" rather than lead the "overall" community with direction in this beauracratic situation.
Let the park owner take the lead.
like i said the proper press release will be tomorrow but this is the info i was given first hand

There's always a "fly in the ointment" it seems.
I hope they all work it all out!

"or get a "fly swatter" ha ha ha ha........
As many of you may have heard Perris Raceway is in dire need of your support.
The track itself is not in jeopardy, However the hours that you can ride are!
Due to a permit issue, There is a chance we could lose the right to ride or race after dusk.
Perris Raceway track has been in operation for more than 50 years; 41 of them have had night time racing and riding! Many of you are generations of riders who have been coming here for a safe, family friendly atmosphere. If they take away the night time racing and riding it will affect the track and its riders for years to come.
The City is trying to work with us, But they do want to hear all sides.
The following are the two city hall meetings. If you can attend please do!
March 4th (Planning Commision Meeting) and March 10th (City Council Meeting).
Meetings start at 6pm
City of Perris

Kids come in your gear, Come with your friends and family. Whether you ride or not, Please Just COME!
Thank you for your support!

Too bad a petition drive couldn't been made up as well.....maybe a minor help, but a help.
Best wishes.
What is a Grandfather Clause, can someone explain please?
Jeff Nordstrom manages it.
I believe he was the manager of Comp Edge before that.
Grandfather clause, basically, they've been there so damn long good luck getting rid of them.
The Lawyers from both sides are working on it and hope to come to a good compromise. My friend did not feel like the City was against the track, but actually wants it there. It seems they will be moving the starting gate back to the middle of the track like it has been the past 10 years or so. About 50 riders showed up in support of the track. It does not seem as if the group needs to show up next week at the City Counsel meeting.
Thanks for everyone's support.
At least it sounds like it went well as far as the track staying goes.
if that's all it takes to fix the problem i am all for it.
Does perris sound check machines??? not starting anything just asking.
Pit Row
That was basically my point, move the gate, shut the neighbor up for a while and keep riding.
i wonder if they do that for the drag races
Just as unfortunate either way, thanks for the link.
A 37-year-old man killed Wednesday afternoon in a motocross accident at the Perris Raceway has been identified as Odin Dennis Daly of Beacon, New York, authorities said Thursday.
The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. on one of the facility's dirt motocross tracks at 1205 Burton Road.
Daly crashed as he was coming off a jump, said Sgt. Kevin Smith of the Perris Police Department. As he was trying to pick up his dirt bike, another rider came over the jump and landed on top of him.
"It was just one of the split-second things," Smith said, explaining that the second rider couldn't see what had happened, and there wasn't enough time for workers to get a warning flag up before he came over the jump.
Apparently, Daly was not a very experienced rider, Smith said. He was wearing a helmet, but no other protective gear above the waist. He died at the scene.
Another rider died as a result of a dirt bike crash in March 2007 at the Starwest Motocross Park in Perris.
