He was at a disadvantage with the 250 so I think he was even better on the 450.

He went 24-0 on the 2002 CR250r & 2004 CRF450r. I would venture & say he was very good on both bikes. I think back then the CR was making close to 60 hp so I don't think he was at a disadvantage. He also proved it imo when he raced the MXON on his 03 CR250r against all the factory 450's & won the race.

Over the track and struggled with windham and ferry on hills. You could see it and he even mentioned it many times.
Don't want to take away from the topic of this thread, but I recall him only loosing a couple of motos in 03. That doesn't sound like he was at a disadvantage.
Regardless of the point of views in the thread he was dominant on the 02-03 CR250r & the results speak for themselves.

I feel fortunate to have witnessed his run on the CR2..

So when his main competition is on 4 strokes in 03 he loses a couple motos and most races are close. Go to 04 he’s on a 4 stroke destroys everyone by almost a minute every race and he states many times he was at a disadvantage on the two stroke. But just ignore that because he doesn’t know what he’s talking about right. Funny he didn’t want the two stroke in 04 because he said he was at a disadvantage

I remember a couple of interviews that last year on the 250 where claimed that he was running it so hard to keep up with the 450s that he was afraid it was gonna blow up and that the 450s were faster.

reded - That was always his riding style being WOT on a 2-stroke. He wasn't the most gracious rider, but as an mx fan you can appreciate his toughness & determination. He hardly let off the throttle even when he got out of shape he would keep it pinned. He's called the GOAT for obvious reasons as he accomplished some great things at the pro level that more than likely we won't see in our lifetime again.

Watch Budds Creek 2003. He falls down in the 1st moto & alsmot catches back up to Tim Ferry for the win. In the 2nd moto he had no competition. This is just 1 example in 03 of many that he wasn't at a disadvantage.

At about the 10 min. mark of the 1st moto David Bailey mentions the Honda CR2 making a lot of power & being able to compete with the 4t's..

I'm a big Carmichael fan and an even bigger 2 stroke fan so in my opinion the following pictures are by far the best out there in terms of RC4 on a Honda.

I saw him and Stewart both do it one year. Miss that track.
