Yea well you "fans" who come on a public forum to openly criticize/ put down/ degrade the stars of our sport are punks. You can try to justify yourself all you want by saying the shit that is said about riders on here is just part of the game, but that doesn't make it right. It is no different than saying it to the persons face when you post on a public forum. They still get the message load and clear. Yea I'm sure they sleep great at night after watching the j. lusk video posted all over youtube, ask pastrana. Then cruise over to motodrive and see how all the "fans of our sport" really appreciate what they do.

I said that James may be the fastest rider ever but is not a great racer when he doesn't check out in the first lap or two. That's my opinion and I posted it. I believe history supports that view. I don't find that to be talking shit, looking for attention, or childish.

And that he does. He deserves that statement and have no problem saying it to his face. He is a punk. But attacking riders like chad reed, or james stewart is out of line. They are the leaders in our sport and have done nothing wrong.

Yea, I will call his attention seeking, pompous ass out just like I did with you

So I'm not allowed to say something that you feel is negative which deals with a public figures performance, for which he is very well paid to do in a public arena. Even though there is nothing personal about it. Hmmm, interesting.

Funny you say that, people used to think I hated James because I said I didn't think James could beat RC outdoors. Now people say I hate Reed because I point out that he has never, not one time, shown that he had the speed to beat James in SX. Those are simple historical observations.

I don't hate Reed or ANY rider, not even Lawrence (who I just pity). In fact, Reed used to be my son's favorite rider, and I have respect for the fact that Reed didn't get anything handed to him in this sport - he went out and worked hard for what he has. But Reed has never shown the heart to race with RC or James.

I really didn't like Stewart's childish "look at me" program early in his career, but he has never backed down from anyone. He probably took 5 years off his career trying to beat RC outdoors and never gave up. And from his first days in the 450 class, he left it all out on the track trying to beat the best - first RC and now Reed. Reed doesn't even try to out-race Stewart - his whole program is to hope Stewart hands it to him. You can call that strategy if you want, but it sounds a lot like a guy who won't take on the best rider and beat him. If you want to be a really good rider, that's a fine way to ride. If you want to be the best ever, then you have to at least beat the best of your time. So Reed is a really good rider and maybe even a great rider, but, on a comparative level, Reed has never been better than the second best rider in the sport in his own time. That's not hating, that's observing.
This post is completely, totally 100% correct in both observation and conclusion. Well said WhKnuckle. Outstanding.

Not only that, but in all the racing I've watched over 30 years, the biggest most enthusiastic crouds of hardcore, knowledgeable motocross racing fans were the ones watching those RC/Stewart battles of 2005, 2006, and 2007, bar none.

I just think this statement is a little silly when Chad came out in his rookie year and won more races than RC. He hasn't had anything for them since moving to the 4-stroke but he had game in '03 and '04. I wish RC was there in '04 so you guys wouldn't be sticking an * on Chad's championship.

My friend, if RC had been there in 04, there would be no * on the championship because it would have been another one for RC. What about last year and the championship he eeked out over that championship collectiing force of a 30 year old Kevin Windham?

Chad would have taken RC to the cleaners in '04. Like I said, once they all got on 4-strokes Chad had nothing for them but on the blue 2-stroke he did.

Reed didn't get in there and take the bull by the horns until the championship was already lost. By the time Reed went on his win streak, RC only had to get second. The title run was over. Remember who usually got third in those races? If I remember right, it was Fonseca. So, if RC went out every week and beat Fonseca, he wins the title. You think he's going to go 10/10ths if all he needs is second and the most likely guy to get third is Fonzie?

Reed won some races after the title was fundamentally decided. That's all there was to it.

Dude, a little bit of deep sea fishing with the title.

It’s funny, Hannah is celebrated for his do or die crash or win style. Yet Stewart is only a great rider. We are watching the history of a great racer being made and have been for a number of years now. JS made a mistake under pressure. Big deal, it happens. I’m just glad we have an exciting race to watch.

All I know is that I attended a couple of those races that year and I saw Ricky and Chad "racing" each other, back and forth for the lead and Chad coming out on top. If RC was running for 2nd he wouldn't have been taking the chance of throwing it all away. Any RC fan knows he doesn't race for 2nd.

Stewart is a Amazing racer. He crashed twice and still finished Second. WoW he didnt win two races this year and you say hes not a great racer. For such a bad racer hes doing pretty good

You have to take great risks for great rewards. James has never been shy about going for it.

...and it makes exciting racing! Can't blame somebody for wanting to win. The good thing about Chad is that he doesn't like losing, whereas all the other ones have accepted that (except Stewart of course).

Actually his point was dead-on.

Anybody that rides or watches the sport appreciates Stewart's ability on a bike ... but it's that stupid-fock segment of his fans that won't STFU about how great he is that people are sick of.

Newsflash - JS doesn't need your help. His riding speaks for itself. All you're really doing is causing him minor grief on the internet.

The title of the thread was James Stewart is not a great racer, it was a stupid thread and WK's post was dead on, so where do we go from here?

I just recently posted a comment about James Stewart on my facebook page & you would have thought I was "JUDGING GOD HIMSELF" by the comments that came back at me?
And btw I agree with everything about James Stewart that I've read on this page so far! On my FB page I posted that "little Jimmy Stewart is a throttle junkie with tons of speed but lacks control?
Wow after that I was called a racist? I was told why don't you race him & tell us how many times he laps you? I was referred to as a judgmental teenager but yet I'm 43 years old? I also said that James or Jimmy as I called him was just trying to be like RC but he never will get 15 titles like RC has or win as many SX races as McGrath has & some younger guy said that McGrath didn't count because when he was racing there was NOBODY good racing at that time?!! LOL I guess I just pissed a few newbie fans of the sport off? I've been a fan of motocross since 1977 & then a SX, Enduro, GNCC, Arenacross, WORCS & Endurocross since they 1st came out?
Also I'm NOT a professional or amateur racer at all? I'm just a 43yr. old that's loved the sport as well as riding since I was 7 yrs. old.
