Do riders still give 10% of their purse money to their mechanics? If so we can call Frankie, Frank the Bank.

The million gets paid by an insurance company. Feld insures the race against a win for a million bucks. They probably pay a lot less than that for the policy.

It also gets payed out over 20 years. He'll actually get a yearly check that is less than the interest would be, if he got the million and put it in the bank.

What did Marvin say when taking his helmet off? .........if I won the million I'd give him 10 grand.

Who was he talking about?
I think he was talking to frankie his mechanic but 10k seems super low. 50k at least.
I think they were trying to do quick math for 10% of winnings and forgot a zero. I'm guessing Frank the Bank is getting $100k.

I thought you can choose whether its paid over 20 or straight away. The reason villo chose the 20 year option was to not lose a massive amount to tax

Marvin has had a great 2017....3rd over all in SX with a couple of wins, came within a tweaked knee of winning the outdoors and now he sweeps the MEC and cashes in...his momentum is huge going into 2018...

To me it sounded like he said “I told Matilda I would give her 10k if I won a million this week.” He acted like he said it thinking the likelihood of it happening was low, lol.

What’s the lump sum if you take it all at once and not over the 20 Years?

Anyone know how much tax he would have to pay?
To me it sounds pretty dumb to not have them pay it all at once. If they only give you 50k a year over 20 years, you lose all the interest you would get from putting a million minus tax on a bank account.

I think it works out to be around 30% in taxes taken out. So around $300k goes to Uncle Sam if it's a lump sum.
