Love this dudes style, when he's on I don't think anyone including Herlings can beat him.
Laughing Dont get carried away there. Only rider that can beat herlings straight up is cairoli, the rest are eating his dust at this point.

People tend to forget quickly.. Gajser is as you say just as fast as Cairoli and Herlings when he is good and healthy. Just because he has been injured a large part of the season people think he doesnt have the pace. I would say he is now almost back to his 2016 form. Just look at his speed at mxon in the quali race..

He will probably crash out .

You must be new to the GP's. Earlier in the season Tim won 5 out of 6 motos and the only one he lost he crashed in. That was the most dominant 3 race stretch by anyone this year. Herlings or AC included.

Well he did beat Herlings in about 8 GPs this season. So yeah no he can't beat him at all

I know.
Gajser was injured in the middle of the season as well and didn't even contest two races.
His third race back he beat Herlings in Loket and was very close to winning the GP.

I don't say either of them is better but saying he can't beat Herlings straight up is just wrong

Thanks guys for the backup, lol he obviously didn't see how dominate 2016 Gajser was and how he started 2017. He will be back to normal 2018 I hope and it will be a three way battle.

I see him loosing seconds on that 5-5 rhythm section. On other parts of the track he can be equal, or even faster with low scrubbing.

With that in mind, I predict mistakes during the race in that section in riding behind top guns. But it will be great experience for him and maybe new motivation for winter preparations on new 2018 World cup season. He needs some, for chasing Herlings.

How are some of you able to hold a crack pipe, light a crack pipe and type at the same time when you post about him on the podium or close to Eli and Musquin speed?

48 hours until someone is eating humble pie.
Uhh....because last year he strait out beat RD in the super pole at the WSX stuff. On this type of track , he will be hauling ass. Might be a far fetch here , but I would not be surprised to see him win tonight. I doubt it will happen , but he will be at the front , minus any mistakes.

So many guys not racing tonight. It's not your typical SX track. I see him on the podium if he doesn't crash.

Because its the same herlings from the beginning of the year to the end? Gajser was healthy the last 3 rounds and he got passed with ease by herlings. And im not even a herlings fan but second half of the season he had everybody in check.

In loket he got the holeshot and pulled away, herlings was top 10. If herling and tim go 1&2 off the gate who you think would end up winning right now?

Herlings is another level right now, but hopefully tim can find his mojo and due battle with AC and herlings next year.

Nah he can't beat him, never
But wait Anstie just beat him a week ago who hasn't even won an mxgp moto in his life.

Herlings is great but he's not unbeatable. And he will have to be prepared next year. Incredible that people are already throwing Gajser and Febvre under the bus just because Herlings had a good second half of the season. We will see how he handles real pressure over 19 rounds because that's what he will have next year from several riders.

So hope he's right and Tim is ok. He did a good race imo

Good, hope he's not hurt

I was told he hurt his stomach, but is okay. I had high hopes for Tim, but even without the crash he wasn't going to be racing for the podium. While it wasn't a typical SX track, it may have been even worse than a typical SX track for someone like Tim. Even the best SX riders were having a hell of a time with the track. There was no rhythm or flow and the transitions were super steep.

His stomach? Wow, I thought it would have been his face. It looked like he bounced his nose off the handlebars pretty good.
Isn’t he only like 20 or 21? I’d like to see him try a true supercross race next year. Something a little slower than MEC might actually help him figure out the rhythm.

Gajser got hit really hard and could not breath for a while. He is sore but ok. Anyone got that delicious (gluten free) humble pie for me?

Real shame for Tim. He was fast as expected, but I think we all knew that there was chance this would happen. It looked to me like he just got a little bit tight towards the end when people were putting the pressure on him and he lost his rhythm and made a big mistake, it's happened to much more established SX riders than him in the past. He's still young, he'll get better

It was still a positive display from him. He had good speed and he was 3rd while he crashed.

Btw that section was not well planned. Coming into a triple with that speed is a recipe for disaster, anyone that rides knows that judging a jump is very difficult when you have to slow down for it. Especially when the transitions were very steep and short, there were no margin of error.

His crash was spooky, reminded me of Ken's the way he was heading back to earth.
