Just curious as to what exactly the advantages are, besides the looks. How much weight does it add?

why is everyone so concerned about a part adding weight. I bet you wouldn't even notice it, the beer you just had weighs more.

It barley adds any weight. It's a super thin but very strong coating. Doesn't even come close to what powder coating weighs.

Curious if anybody has ever had there outer fork tubes and shock body done in cerakote. To make it look like a knock off kashima coating

Laughable how many shops are offering Cerakote coatings like it is some rare thing. Anybody can do it at home. Small compressor, spray gun and used oven cost me $150. Very simple and fun to do.

To do it right, you also need a blasting cabinet with approx 100-120 grit aluminum oxide to give the parts some "teeth" for the Cerakote to stick to. I did one of my Glocks and it came out great

I've been doing Cerakote lately, myself! Fun to work with and it looks awesome! Cool

Here is a set of 2015 yz450f hubs I did in burnt bronze.

I Would appreciate those as as well. Curious about the wear and if it holds up any better than powder coat.

Holds up better than powder but I still wouldnt do parts that get a lot of roost like triple clamps or even clutch cover. So far my calipers and engine case are holding up amazing. My rear brake caliber holder shows a lot of wear. Rear master cylinder wore down very fast from boot rubbing.

I've had my previous 3 450FE's ignition, oil filter and water pump covers powder coated they held up great and the only cover that showed any wear was obviously the ignition cover but it looked great for at least half of the season and probably 10hrs or so. I just had my FE's stuff Cerakoted and this is the ignition cover after my first ride and 1.5 hrs. Not impressed.
