It's official. There is absolutely nothing left, about our sport, that someone will find to gripe about.

Instead of a drinking game I decided to start a pull up game: Log onto Vital, and do five pull-ups every time I see a stupid post. Best shape of my life.

I'm all good with 84 making his way over the pond to take on a race but...

If he wins(and he very well could) it will be against a very very depleted group...tomac will be on cruise control for the title, misquin will be charging and bb4 will be whatever he can with his thumb...

There are no bragging rights to be gained...dungey/villopotto must be wondering why he never stepped up in the last 5 years...suddenly now out of the blue?

I'm sure he will do well...he is lightning fast...but this is an exhibition and nothing more...nobody gets to say 'better than america' after this OR 'euros can't hang' if he fails...

It just is what it is

That says a lot right there, Herlings is still in it while all the others have fallen by the wayside. I'm looking forward to it regardless of the outcome. I'd love to see him, Tomac and Musquin all kill it for 30+2 x 2. Any other US riders care to jump into the fray, I'll be right here on the edge of my seat.
Totally agree! Hopefully Bogle, Wilson, Webb, Peick, Seely, etc. are feeling inspired.

*referring to the 2016 US GRAND prix's*

I'm all good with Tomac wanting to take on the US GP's, but...

If he wins(and he very well could) it will be against a very very depleted group...everyone apart from Gajser is out of the title hunt & Gajser will be on cruise control for the title. Everybody else has had enough and is now just going through the motions waiting for the off season.
There are no bragging rights to be gained...TC/Gajser & Febvre must be wondering why he never stepped up like RV to take on the series.....suddenly now out of the blue?

I'm sure he will do well...he is lightning fast...but this is an exhibition and nothing more...nobody gets to say 'better than america' after this OR 'euros can't hang' if he fails...

Haha very nice.

People will never be satisfied and they will always come up with excuses for this not to be relevant.

Who cares? I just want to see a world class rider against some different competition and on a different track. He could go 1-1 and Tomac could go 1-1 at the USGP. The whole USA vs GPS arguement is so stupid and meaningless. They're both world class series.

just enjoy a MXGP rider coming over and keeps his momentum going on late minute decision ., he is going to race a new bike , new track with minimum preparation and is not afraid to end up at whatever place he get , and if he gets a win he was the best that day on that track .. thats all
youre only worried about a possibility he could win ... dont call yourself a MX fan ,its sad
Herlings has the balls to come over , you need to grow a pair
8/25/2017 2:16am
He's been on a 250 until this year for a start. Plus he's been set to do some AMA national races (Southwick) in the past until he got injured anyway. If RV and Dungey were still racing this year (with Herlings in the 450 class having a US GP next week) I'm sure he'd be lining up just as he is now. Just enjoy it for what it is - another top rider added to the mix that should make for some great racing.

Basically you don't want another Euro rider beating your USA boys and queuing excuses already, Who said anything about bragging rights? Do you think he's flying over just to get some bragging rights in the pits?

The only people who care about this whole Euro vs USA thing is the fans, the riders well majority of them couldn't give two shits.

Herlings is clearly in Tomac's head bros. I'm surprised no one noticed, not surprised or anything.

This is ridiculous, Herlings is going to break vital this weekend. More talk about this than the Mayweather vs McGregor fight.

Herlings has not actually entered the event and has only begun testing the bike he would have to ride, should he choose to participate in the AMA Pro Racing-sanctioned event; AMA Pro Racing and the FIM-sanctioned MXGP have different rules and regulations, and Herlings would not be able to use his usual race bike for this event.

He`s using USA spec engine, but everything else is from GP.
At least that is what I got out of his interview with GuyB.

Did you ask him how often he stops by this forum to have a laugh at some of the stuff on here? Laughing

He mentioned " The rumours " so I'm guessing he checks by now and again.

Man he would have a field day if he checked this board right now.

But I agree great interview and genuine honest answers. Good stuff

I am hoping he wins and shakes things up a bit, give everyone something to talk about and keeps it exciting.

he said he was testing the AMA bike at Baker yesterday , he did say differences between bikes were not that big from what i understood he isnt racing his own bike .. if so would mean he is racing a stock KTM frame and swingarm in MXGP ? hard to imagine with his length and weight but it could be , i dont know ..

Yeah "the rumors" are why I asked Laughing and I remember there has been a couple of "he reads vital" moments in the past too.
