"Ryan Dungey's strategy is to win this race..." no shit?! wow! thanks guys! joe six-pack wouldn't have understood what was going on without that little tidbit of info.
what i'm saying is that they are paying these guys. all three of them are on the payroll. after 4 years, they should at least have a grasp of what the hell they are doing.
it's like hiring a past pole champion fatty to come strip for your buddies bachelor party. sure she knows what she's doing, but there are plenty others, probably non-past pole champions, that can do a much better job for the same pay.
what we have now makes our sport look juvenile and very annoying to watch. even to the non-hardcore fan.
whats with the explanation of the colors of bikes and the color of the riders gear? who gives a flying f**k? they have been "educating" the viewer for the last 4 years. what they are doing is making the viewer dumber.
"so how is the weather condition going to affect the riders Jeff?" fuckin seriously?? give me a break.
And as far as Ralph goes, he does have an annoying sounding voice but when he asks Fro some stupid sounding questions, it is just to set Fro up as the expert. I am quite certain Ralph knows the answers to most of his questions..
This is how all sports commentating works, one is the straight guy that calls the race/game and the other provides the expert opinions but try not to talk over the heads of the casual fan.
All things considered i think they do a good job this year and are sounding more enthusiastic like the canadian guys used to in the great white north!
anyone who thinks the broadcasts are doing a good job portraying our sport are just blinded by their love of the actual sport.
can i do a better job? hell no. but that is why i am in Construction Management, not Racing Broadcasts. had i tried to get a job doing commentating for any sport, i would make damn sure i was making the sport look professional. and if i was in charge of the broadcast, i sure as hell would make some HUGE changes to what is going on. whoever is in charge needs a reality check.
i mean, they're touching arms most of the time, and that's the arms that hold the mics... just sayin, standing that close to someone lets them know exactly what you had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner... if i were emig i would punch shaheen in the sack and tell him to get outta my bubble.
I luv when they used to say "And who's gonna get the Royal Distributingg Holleeeeee SHiiiooootttttt"!!!! that was f'n awesome
anyone who brings up the lack of coverage in the past needs to get with the times. we're living in a time where news is spread instantly and professionally through the internet, tv, radio, etc...
the North Eastern Semi-Regional Quarter Finals in Super Modified +300cc Riding Lawnmower Racing gets better television coverage and commentating than supercross/motocross...
Pit Row
Oh, and holy hell, can you guys over analyze a broadcast or what?! Do you clowns take notes during the broadcast on what Emig/Shaheen/Bates said so you can go piss and moan about on the web?
How about just watching the race.
Gotta love it!!!
Just sayin
Post a reply to: Emig !!
