Got a few things still to do but its getting close to a running bike again, I ended up getting another barrel and power valves and I should have it all bolted on in the next few days, after leaning up on KX's my old barrel and power valves I deemed crap if I want to get the most out of this engine..
There is one set back I've lost the flywheel keyway??, I can't believe it working on engines I have always stuck the flywheel keyway to one of the magnets in the flywheel well it's not there has gone walkabout damn it..
Oh yeah I'm well pleased with what it has evolved into I walk into the shed and I'm like wow sweet looking bike to me anyway...
Got the power valves sorted, the main flap valve (no longer available from Kawasaki) wears on the pins and does not fully open robbing top end power, same goes for the sub valves left and right if the ramps are badly worn bin em.
I punched the pins out (it actually only took a little tap to knock them out) and reversed them for peace of mind I rough the pins up with a punch for a good interference fit.
Few pics
Really nice work and thanks for sharing!!!

On my wish list for the engine are Boyesen super bowl and rad valve, but for now I will just get it running and jetted,
And yep had to order a new flywheel keyway damn it.
Just read this from the beginning.
I think that bike deserves a gold chain
I will get a few more bits for it down the track still waiting for a decent front disc guard to come up they are hard to get.
And funny you say that about the chain I ordered a gold chain from the US but apparently it got lost on the way down here am trying to sort that out but yes I think a gold chain will top it off..
I learnt a lot doing this bike and already have my next project a 2002 RM250 going to do it retro 88 RM style, I like the all blue frame engine of that era.
heres the 06, i did to look like late 80s
