Tracks back in the day also were not being prepped and cared for like they are now. No one wants to ride a shit hard pack track and spectators don't want to be covered in dust all day. Add in some wind and overall it's a miserable experience for everyone.

A lot more effort is made now to keep tracks well groomed because it's fun to ride and the dust doesn't kill the fans.

I like watching these top riders battle on rough and rutted tracks. I do wish they would clean up a few spots between motos. For safety and for better racing.
Except for the rutted part, I tend to agree. All I'm really wishing for is some touch up, not a complete overhaul in the way things are done.

Don't have an answer to the situation, just an opinion I'll keep to myself but that pass that A Mart executed in turn 2 by braking early and cutting across the ruts in the corner was awesome!

Sorry for the run-on sentence.

I think we need to let each track be unique. They all mix in sand, rice, and sawdust into every track. These guys don't even change...

I think it would be so neat to see different riders excel at all the different surfaces. Could you imagine if these guys had to race Carlsbad?

There is more variance in supercross tracks! In a series you have blue groove, red clay, deep ruts, whatever the hell Seattle was. The GPs get like 10 different winners a year, and here we are lucky to get 3. You have to think riders specializing in different terrain has at least something to do with it.

I'll defer to an actual pro who has ridden these tracks vs. a bunch of Vet keyboard warriors...

Just chiming in here too...not a fan of the huge , deep rutted stuff we see now days. And yes , I think the nationals could take a closer look at how the GP tracks get. They don't rip them as deep , good lines still form.....but damn it , it isn't like the slot car stuff we have going on here now.

I personally hate the way some of our tracks here get prepped. Deal with a little dust , big freakin' deal! This " Rut-o-Cross " is starting to get out of hand.

Of course he did. He won the race . tracks should be made to promote good racing for the fans . more line s surely would equal better racing . Now we a 10 line s down a straight and you can only use 2 if your lucky . Let hard pack tracks be hard pack , then have Sand and loam tracks . its like the tracks are trying to out do each other , by who can have the most gnarly track . Bit s of Hangtown were like an enduro not an Mx track . Plus its so dangerous , Ruts took out Tomac, Js7 and Jesse Nelson to name a few . but yet people say its safer !!!!
